Nathan Fillion was an amusing yet dead end actor in his past comedies. By dead end, I mean that at that rate he would remain stuck in those comedies. However, Joss Wedon gave him the part of Mal in Firefly (even when Nathan wasn't sure it was right for him)and a star was born.

Fillon does a great job as an actiony smart-mouth who is at his funniest when backed into a corner. He has proved himself in the series, and then again in the film Serenity.

My question is: Why isn't Fillon at the helm of another role like Mal's? It dosen't have to be sci-fi; it could be an action show. Think 24 meets Firefly!
