So I today I was at Fan Expo 2009 in Toronto, Ontario and I gotta say it was really good, I had a great time. A couple key moments I wanted to highlight:
- Playing God of War 3 demo: It was intense, the graphics were amazing especially on the huge tv Sony had up. No complaints
- Playing Uncharted 2: Among Thieves demo: I didnt get too long with but I got a pretty decent feel for it. It felt a big tougher then the first uncharted also the cover system felt a bit buggy but the shooting was solid and the platforming areas were great. Also the graphics, I mean so good its insane.
- Playing Ratchet and Clank: ACiT: Not much to say about this, if you like Ratchet you will like this game.
- Playing COD:WaW with Samsung 3D glasses: The 3D glasses were pretty cool but it didnt add too much to the experience and the 3D effect was only really visible with close up things such as grass.
- Seeing people different people like Victor Lucas from G4, Leonard Nimoy, Lou ferrigno, and The Soup Nazi among others.
- Alot of cool and well done costumes
- Alot of great comic art work and other comic related stuff
My Favorite part though had to be meeting Jeremy and Kyle from PurePwnage. Me and a friend even got to play 3 games of Tetris DS with Jeremy, and I gotta say we are pretty dam good at the game but even still we got owned.
Anyone in the Toronto area should definetly check it out, tomorrow (August 30th) is the last day though.
So I saw Inglourious Basterds earlier today starring Brad Pitt, Melanie Laurent, Eli Roth, Diane Kruger and directed by Quentin Tarantino. Overall the movie was good but not great. Let me just say that it was long, 153 min, and it was really slow at times which made it feel even longer. One thing I want to point out is that this isnt the usual world war 2 movie, and there was alot of talking. The biggest issue though is probly the fact that there was so many pointless scenes which just werent needed, or could of been done so much faster. One thing I did like though is how suddenly the movie would change from conversation to insane unexpected things from outta nowhere. If you have some time to kill and dont mind long periods of conversation then I would recommend it, if your looking for an all out action movie your out of luck. Id give it about a 7.5/10
I saw District 9 today with some friends, and it ended up living up to my personal hype. It was a very well made movie. Plot was great, solid acting and the Aliens looked amazing. I also liked the indirect political aspects of it. Its definetley worth the price of admission. Id give it a 9/10.
