Miley Cyrus is one of the most influential forces in popular culture today, but her abilities as an actress and as a musician are average, at best. The frenzied media storm around Hannah Montana is a marketing dream, which is more a testament to Disney's power than to Miley Cyrus's talent. She's fine for a kids star, but when she jumps into real show business she's going to get blind sided. Her acting on the show is not very good (although she is pretty limited creatively), and her music is pretty bad. A lot of people could look good on stage with a great band, dancers, and tons of pyrotechnics. She might be cherished by pre-teens today, but when this generation grows up in 5-10 years, I just don't see her staying relevant. Kudos to her for being so popular and charismatic, but the chances of her evolving into a real artist seems very, very low.

It's not all her fault; when your born into that kind of money you don't really need to be smart or well educated. She was terrible on SNL, and she was horrible on the Simple Life. It wasn't a terrible special, and some of his jokes were funny. The crowd was the problem. Its like an arena full of drunken frat boys and middle school girls. Everybody went crazy for punchlines that weren't that good, and it was like a rock concert. Good for him that he can get people that into his act, but he doesn't deserve the attention he gets. Some of his fans are idiots, and wouldn't know a good comedian if he smacked them in the face. His fan base turns me off, and his material isn't great. (He does commit well though) I can recommend at least 20 better comedians if that's your looking for. He's not bad, but his stand up isn't amazing and he does get irritating.

He isn't the best comedian out there but he is a very funny guy who deserves more exposure. I hope he gets his own hourlong special. Watch his first comedy central presents and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Solid comedian who will have you laughing all through his act.

The Daily Show, like any talk show is not always hilarious, and is often silly. Jon Stewart's routine is fairly similar night to night, and they usually drive a topic into the ground. I usually won't watch his show regularly because each show is pretty similar. Jon Stewart however is a very good host, and is very funny. He has had some great interviews with some very powerful people, and he has a good touch with knowing when something should be left alone. He knows when to talk and when to let his guest talk. Usually his opening monologue is at least entertaining, and he has enough charisma to keep the show rolling when the writing gets a little weak.

He is very knowledgeable, but it is amazing how he catches these snakes and handles them. When he was handling the Gaboon Viper and the Mamba I was on the edge of my seat. It seems like he does have a true love for these animals, and he provides some amazing television. Some of these snakes would probably kill him if they bit him, yet he handles them like its nothing. Very ballsy guy who's fun to watch.

Conan is a fairly good entertainer, but I just can't stand him for long periods of time. His show (really all talk shows) is only interesting when a good guest is on. While I will watch Late Night if nothing else is on, I usually change the channel. He relies on the same basic jokes, and his routine is pretty much the same every night. I was impressed when he played guitar at a night club; he's not bad. Overall he is fine. Its hard to do what he does every single night and still be funny. Not my favorite TV personality but still a solid host.

Anything I write in this review is redundant; it's undeniable how talented and influential he was. He was a very versatile guitarist who influenced anyone who's ever picked up an electric guitar. Dylan loved Hendrix's cover of All Along the Watchtower so much he incorporated it into his act. All three of his studio albums were very good, and he was amazing live. He could be soulful and sweet, but he could shred with the best of them. Very few guitarists are able to play at the level he did and still provide vocals. (Really only SRV and Clapton)It is tragic that he died so young; its unimaginalbe what he could have done with even another decade.

The Conservative Stephen Colbert that we see on the Colbert Report is a well played character. He mocks all the right wing nuts and accurately plays a Fox News pundit. The Colbert Report is fairly sophisticated and has some good points about the government and American Society. He was good on the Daily Show when he was an anchor. His voice work on Harvey Birdman and Ace and Gary was also very good. His voice is easily recognizable and he plays any character well. He is one of the best interviewers I have ever seen. He can make anyone uncomfortable and asks the most ridiculous questions to very powerful people. Funny, Talented guy. I'm glad they gave him a show.

Melo! The first few seasons in Denver he was pretty disappointing, not really progressing like we thought he should. The last couple years he has come along and developed a good all around offensive game. He needs to get better on defense, but he has the athleticism and quickness to become a good defender. Given a little more time to mature, he will become a great all around player. I would like to see him stay in Denver because he is a pretty good guy (especially by NBA standards) and he has the potential to develop into a hall of famer. He is one of the better forwards in the league. With more work on defense, and a slightly more professional attitude he will be a force for the next decade or so.

All of his specials have been hilarious, and I saw him live and was very impressed. He is one of the few comedians with inoffensive material. He doesn't hammer joke after joke about relationships or politics. He simply pokes fun at society and comments on the daily routine. His jokes are witty, yet his delivery and impressions allow him to reach a wider audience. He is a very good comedian, and I've enjoyed every piece of stand-up I've seen of him.

Peyton Manning is the best quarterback in the NFL, and he is one of the best people in professional sports. True he has had a great receiving core his entire career, but he can take over a game at any time. He has made all-pro defensive players look like amateurs, and he consistently puts up tremendous numbers. When he beat the Broncos in 2006, it was one of the best quarterback performances I've ever seen. He was down big at half, yet he remained calm and methodically picked apart our defense. His talent is undeniable, as he is consistently one of the top performers at wide receiver in the NFL. Most receivers today are self centered divas who need the ball thrown to them every other play. He is the worst of these. Every time he does an endzone dance I cringe a little. Why don't you stop your ridiculous self promotion and hand the ball to the referee. Now he wants a trade? You're not going to get a better quarterback so just go catch the ball and stop complaining. The "future hall of famer" sign he had was unnecessary and disgraceful. The game needs outlandish personalities, but his is too much. He is a great player, but his self promotion on and off the field is embarrassing to himself and the game. TO finally settled down and accepted that football is a team sport. Maybe "Ocho Cinco" can finally do this while he still has a good team around him.
