Hello again,
As another month has passed, the urge to write a blog keeps growing on me...it's not as persistent as it used to be, but still...
a couple of things have happened the past couple of weeks…not only did I enter the years of wisdom (turned 30 last weekend), I just got back home from a week at the Belgian coast with my patients… it was good fun and I really enjoyed the company of my colleagues; they had to endure quite a lot though…it all started the first day; so far I never arrived late at work (unless it was the public transports' fault
); the day we were leaving for the little holiday, I overslept! ![]()
But no worries; a couple of the patients wanted to go on a "dew trip" the next morning, and as I seemingly have had enough sleep the night before, I was the chosen victim to accompany them…we woke up at 6am and started walking…a nice and pleasant experience. The day after some patients wanted to pay a visit at the fishing mines…as I was already in the mood of getting up before sunrise (and even more because of a sense of guilt caused by oversleeping the first day), I volunteered again…now waking up at 4am and walking for 2 hours in pouring rain and a sharp and cold wind… when we arrived at the fishing mine at about 6am another 4 ships were supposed to come in and unload their treasures… we saw a couple of boxes filled with plaice getting sorted…and that was about it…nothing spectacular at all…but we earned a lot of admiration for our persistence in our little expedition
.
It's probably no surprise, but I took my camera on this little trip and took a couple of pictures I wanted to share with you guys…
A lighthouse

Sunset at Nieuwpoort with the statue "Searching For Utopia" by the Belgian artist Jan Fabre on the back of his turtle in the background

the dunes...

sun hiding behind yet another statue...

local fauna...

Nieuwpoort with paddling people (the water was freezing cold; we went for a paddle ourselves that same night)

Fisherman on the pier

one of our numerous strolls on the beach...
we drove passed some wee hairy cows…they lived not that far from where we stayed, so the next free moment I had, I jumped on a bike to go say hi to my strawberry blonde friends…

I also booked myself another trip to Iceland. I'm gonna go all by myself (well, not with anyone I know, but it's some kind of group journey)…so in April, my friends and I will be visiting Ireland for some hiking (we're going to buy ourselves a decent tent next weekend) and at the end of June I'll be roaming around the isle of ice and fire…
So have you guys have made any holiday plans yet? Please feel free to share them so we can dream together about unknown destinations!
Until then: have a nice week and take care!

Also, I was looking through your blogs and it appears your music taste is shockingly similar to mine...
