Got a few unused, post here if you want one, or PM me, or drop me an email!
Well, turns out I wasn't recovering so well after all. October 5th was my b-day, went out for dinner with my husband, was really enjoying the food until the nausea came back. Was vomiting and etc. until about 2 am.
October 6th, couldn't stop running to the bathroom at work. Managed 2 bites out of a sandwich for lunch, that was it for eating, Could barely drink without getting sick.Left at 5, went home, made dinner, tried to eat. more vomiting, stomach cramps, etc. Husband got home at 7, took me to the hospital. After some questions, they made me wear a mask. Everyone kept looking at me funny.I waited in ER until 2am, just about passing out from dehydration, because the waiting was retarded and there doesn't seem to be enough medical staff in this country, ever. The blood pressure monitor was complaining about no pulse. Finally inside, they couldn't even get blood out of my veins (lol) and eventually managed to stick the IV on the back of my hand. Did some blood tests, urine tests, abdominal and chest x-rays, and came back to bed. With a big red sign warning everyone to wear gloves, gowns and masks - wtf. I felt contagious.
Viral gastroenteritis, apparently. Dehydration was really bad, and my lungs are a bit affected, I need a prescription inhaler. Two actually. I'm not too happy about that, one of them is cortisone... I got more advice about what to eat from a friend and how to use the inhalers frmo the pharmacist than from the doctor and nurse and the hospital. I left at 8am, still dizzy, half-nauseous and somewhat dehydrated (they only gave me fluids and gravol), and little containers with baggies with BIOHAZARD stickers on them to take some stool samples back whenever I went to the bathroom next.
It would have almost been quicker to go to Portugal and be better treated there! Not to mention people who got in after me were treated before - a sprained ankle and a ear wax flush, wtf. Does this seem more serious to you?
Still not eating too much,I'm on a mostlyliquid diet. And forcing gatorade down, ew. At least I don't want to dehydrate again. WTF is it with these weird viruses, I'm sure it's all the stupid people coughing and sneezing all over the store without ever covering their mouths. No matter how much we wash our hands and use the anti-bacterial gel...
And then I find out that my husband and a couple of friends were all freaking out because they thought I had cancer. Good lord. Way to panic, guys.
