About cattiness that is so much damn fun?!?!?

I am a curious person, though I wouldn't consider myself especially vindictive. (I'm probably deluding myself here, but whatev.) In high school, we didn't have what you would consider "Mean Girls". We were all pretty much b!tches, at odds constantly and back-stabbing. It was... well, entertaining, to say the least.

Even now - you've seen it here yourself - I get some dirt, turn around and tell everyone. My friends all know this, they know that I am a notorious big mouth. Yet they still tell me things! I think I mostly do it because I think everyone is as curious as me. And I love to hear it all.

But I'm not alone. The owners of E! Television have proved that. They thrive on the catty spins of current events. And I am totally addicted.

Three of my current obsessions:
The Awful Truth with Ted Casablanca
iVillage's Daily Blabber
Pink is the New Blog!

Go ahead, revel in the cattiness!

I've gotten out of the "cattiness" business for the most part. In my last department at work, it was absolutely horrible. I'd be cornered in the morning by some catty B*tch who wanted to dish on someone else and then turn around later and try to dish on someone else and use my name all because I happened to either nod or say something that remotely sounded like agreement. I was stuck in the middle of b*tchiness and cattiness all day long. This girl looks fat. This girl is a slut. This girl shoplifts. This one is sleeping with her boss. It wore me down. (shaking head) There's a line that has to be drawn.

Now-- where I am-- no one really talks about anyone else and I love it. There's no jealousy, no gossip, no back stabbing. In my last department, you had to preface EVERYTHING you said with "Don't tell anyone..." just to make sure no one said anything... and even then, it was a crap shoot.

Enjoy it while you can. It'll catch up to you in about 10 years and you'll wonder why it was ever fun. (That's the old geezer in me speaking.)

It's not really malicious, I don't think. It's more like, "Can you believe this?" to get a second opinion. I'd never say people were fat, sluts, or other things behind their back. Just that they were in denial or dating a leftover of one of my "differently sexual oriented" friends. (This site is censoring any other term for "Differenty oriented", but I'm sure you get the picture) Trust me, I 've been on the losing end of the other stuff, and I've learned that it doesn't pay.
