It might seem strange getting a Playstation 2 now that the next-gen consoles are here, but console gaming itself is the same experience on every console(In my opinion at least) and that's why I don't see the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 as anything other than graphicly impressive consoles. And now that the Playstation 3 is out, it's predecessor is much cheaper.
Not being a die-hard nintendo fan, I honestly didn't see much of a point in getting the Wii. The way I understand it the Wii is simply a different controller, and a different way to use it in it's games. Not much depth and cool gameplay features are present in it's games, at least not enough for me. Besides the Super Mario and Zelda characters have never appealed that much to me.
With the release of the Playstation 3, the price of the playstation (in my country at least) has dropped significantly, it didn't cost more than the equivalent of 150 dollars, and the games cost 10-20 dollars, so money is no longer a real issue.
All this being said I'm pretty much satisfied with my Playstation 2 since it now holds a great deal of good titles. So far my collection is down to: Tekken 5, Resident Evil 4 and Black, which have all shown themselves to be remarkable games.
Well this was just about as good as my blog post could get, so I guess I'm putting an end to it now. Anyway have a nice holiday and a happy new year!

Or something like that... I thought I should start off on the whole blog posting thing by introducing myself... My name is Kristian Bjerre. I live in the nothern part of Jütland (The funny shaped part of Denmark with the weird name
), I'll be 17 years old this September and I'm a dedicated pc gamer with a dated pc. As you could tell from my last blog post, I don't like it when new games are created with too demanding graphic engines(Ohh god I'm whining again). That aside I've just started my new degree of education(You can call it Highschool I guess...). I've chosen to put my focus on computers but lately, I've been having my doubts about whether or not that's what I want to do with my life. On one hand I have my pc gaming and website interrested side, but on the other I have my dedicated movie loving side, which I have to admit by the way is winning me over more and more everyday. But even if I do choose one day to go into the film industri, as a writer or something I'll definetly still be a pro gamer at heart (Funny how movies and games go hand in hand for me). And if I do turn into a screenplay writer I would definetly prefer writing Sci Fi as I think of that as one of the more interresting genres. Anyway that's a little something about me so that you know me a bit, and so that I can keep my blog going for at least a while longer... Ohh and by the way I don't have any specific that I think you should pronounce Deugar, but I did read somewhere on the internet about a horrible monster called ''The Deugar'' or something like that. So if you know how to pronounce that then that's how you pronounce my call sign I guess...
-Goodnight and good gaming

Lately i've been wondering whether or not I'm just '' whining'' when I ask if games have only turned into a 3D demonstration designed to only satisfy the gamer with the most money.... and tonight I've made up my mind. It sure has.
I remember a time when I was younger, when games where all about throwing out completely different ideas in the form of RPG's, FPS's or RTS games. A time where the gaming industry seemed like they were all thinking ''Well hey! We can't change how much the graphics of today sucks but since it's 3D let's just concentrate on the gameplay!''. If you ask me those were the greatest of times. Games had gotten 3D and that was all we needed. No fancy ''Anti-Aliasing'' or special effects were needed to spice up these games since they all had unique stories and gameplay elements... I can remember games like Half-Life, Blood II and Quake III that really got me excited with pc gaming. Never before had the games come alive in such a fashion that i could turn in any direction and walk it... Years passed and just like so many others i got more and more amazed with how the graphics in games were progressing, and how new lighting effects really helped the games come better to life... and yet I didn't take 3D for granted when I tried games like Baldur's Gate, a game that introduced me to role playing for the first time. I was simply shocked how all these games without drawing me in them physically like new games do, still managed to reach me in a much more personal manner. I could go on an on about the many games i tried back then (Many of them using the Quake III engine too), but that would only ruin the blog, and it probably is bad enough already...
Games have taken us to other worlds with and without simple 3D, and a question i dare ask everyone is: Do you believe that these new games will ever satisfy you in the same way the old games did? Has the gaming industry turned from gameplay to graphics or am I missing something? I know some of you might say '' take it easy just wait and get a new pc!'' but it's always easy for them to say that when they're not watching their pc slowly turn into a heap of junk thinking '' why didn't I wait and buy a better pc?''....
Anyway I know this blog post is probably not completely thought through but i hope that's not really the point....
And by the way plz post your comments on this because I really would like to hear how people feel about this and whether or not this blog post was any good.
