Well, you do seem relatively upbeat about the situation and that's a good thing. I had my system for about four months when I received the four red lights. My experience with customer support was very pleasant. Basically, yes, I had to go through all the hoopla of moving it around, trying different settings, etc. When all was said and done, though, I had it shipped out in a couple of days and got it back in a little over a week. I was extremely satisfied, so hopefully you'll have as pleasant an experience.

that blows, mine is still working fine *knock on wood*

According to what people tell me, 3RL happens because of the weld points inside the system... they use cheap grade welding material that can't withstand the high temperatures the 360 gets to. Some people, against the warranty, open up their systems and weld those points with lead-based joints, and lo and behold, the 360 gets revived. I wouldn't mess with that, though, just telling ya what I heard. And it voids your warranty... aaaand might be illegal, not sure.

That sucks man. I hope you can get it fixed easily and hassle free.

My first 360 That I got for christmas died in 1 week it keeped not being able to read discs.

The 360 I got now works great but because of that first 360 Im damn paranoid its really annoying I mean I know most things like this start of with problems but jesus its been 1 year come on if these 360s didnt brake so easy I would call it perfect (thats how much I love it) and I wouldt already be thinking about saving up money so I wont go out of warranty which wont be till next christmas!

Tap it three times on the left. Smack it on the right.

More Warcraft for you.

That sucks for you man but there was a video on here somewhere on Gamespot about putting towels between the 360 to cool it down or something like that and it seemed to work judging by people trying it out but I forget what the guy's name who did it, but check around and you might find it unless you tried that already.

Also, I experienced the 3 red lights of doom before but it didn't occur on a regular basis where I believe my system was jacked and to tell you the truth it hasn't happened in a good while now but *touches on wood* hopefully it stays that way and I have the intercooler for it also.

That sucks man about it being broken. Ive had to call in and sometimes I couldnt even understand the guy i was talking to. You should put a blog up on how the call went.

Thanks for the support everyone, with any luck this should be settled in a few weeks. I have heard of quite a few methods to stop the hardware error, but all of them seem very temporary, and even further harmful to the system in many cases. I would much rather just get the thing fixed and have it done with than risk having an even bigger problem on my hands.

I'm not too afraid of the process they go about, as I have heard it goes quite smoothly in most cases. It's dealing with tech support for the most part that will probably be a pain. I'm just looking forward to getting things fixed and moving forward.

this is what i wroted for other comment spot on this video..dont know why its now showing here..but here:
damn man.. i feel for you..
cause today the delivery guy delivered my 1st 360..which lasted 7 great months..so i waited for 1 month and today i got it..with 1month gold card.
i plug it in and...not workin..its actually even worse
and the console is not the same i sended to them.
tho i bought new 360 (my 2nd) few weeks ago just to play beta at home and other games.
so now i need to send back the "fixed" 360 and wait another month..nice.

also remember this..
YOU GOT LAUNCH CONSOLE..dont worry about the warranty..
launch consoles gets replaced for free for what i know.
so make that call and tell ms the truth..
iv been tryin to call today couple times but its always too busy..

Hey Tam, I checked on the launch console offer, and that was only valid until November of last year. It was apparently a 1 year extension on the regular setup. Was worth a shot though

damn man..well i got bad news about my 360 too..check the blog
tho the service was really good this time..not that it was bad last time, but the lady actualy understood my issue

its really a shame that they dont have that launch console offer,
also if u send your console to repairs make sure you dont have that nice faceplate there

I think the service is good

oh wait..did your console have the 3 red rings problem?
you probably heard about it,but they added "3 red ring 3 year warranty" from date of purchase..so you should check that out if you had to 3 red rings, you might even get new heatsink !
if you will get it fixed be sure to take hard drive and that launch faceplate off
