His Birthday is on the 25th; just less than a month away. Two years old. I was planning on going to the store and buying him his favorite food and new toys. But he died today. He drowned.

And on a normal day, I would have been up at that time and I would have saved him. But not today. It was not meant to be.

His life was not the longest. He spent a good portion of it recovering.

But his life was full of happiness. Because my family was there with him. He was happy up until his last moments because he was playing. On a normal day, we would have been playing together. Not today, but I hope someday again.

I'm going to buy him some toys anyway. I hope he somehow gets to enjoy them wherever he is now.


R.I.P. Karamel. He didn't even know his name but he did know how to make everyone happy. If we made him as happy as he made us, I know he had not regrets.
