Now when i first got my rig i played the first Crysis game and i could run it playable @ 1440x900 at High settings. After that i decided to leave my PC on 24/7 folding proteins on the GPU client of Folding@Home, and as some of you may know this client stresses your GPU to its extremes. Now after some months have passed of constant protein folding i decided to give this new Crysis Warhead a try (which is supposed to be a lot more optimised) so i expected my rig to play it on High settings even better,,,,,,that wasn't the case! My FPS was unplayably low which got me wondering if all that stress from F@H has damaged my graphics card a bit :/

Whats your thought on the matter?

seems a bit unlikely to me, run some benchmarks, like 3dmark. It might be a driver setting, like AA on or something that is hitting hard on the graphics, other games how do they run.

All my other games run perfectly fine(Team Fortress 2 and CoD4) but they are not as graphics hungry as Crysis .

I wouldn't worry about it, Crysis is known for being a very finicky game and every person I know (including myself) experienced the same problems. The truth is one could spend countless hours optimizing Crysis just to have it run like *** the next time you boot it up, with no explanation what so ever.

Dont worry especially if everything else is fine. Yes, Warhead is better optimized and this is True but many people are reporting drop in fps than first Crysis so you're NOT the only one

I don't know anything about computers. What's this folding protein thing? I've heard about that before

Hey, I've been reading people with 8800 cards specifically having poor peformance with Warhead so I guess if the original Crysis is running as it used to then your fine and this is just possibly related to Warhead only.
