The highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed master-piece Killzone is due out some time next year. While many regard Killzone 1 to be the Citizen Kane of the modern video game, Killzone 2 seems to be everything Killzone 1 had, except there will be more amazement in this amazing amazement. So here is my exclusive scoop:
1.) Amazing A.I.
Enemies in Killzone 2 will react to your gunfire. They will dodge left most of the time, and sometimes they will dodge right, followed by a straight blitz to your position. It will create a sense of urgency for the player when the enemy runs straight at you while you shoot at them.
2.) Incendiary Objects
This ain't your mama's exploding barrel! No these are incendiary devices placed in the battlefield used strategically by smart enemies (see point number 1) to hide behind. The smart player will use the incendiary device tactfully to their benefit, foolishness (calculated in real time and will differ from enemy to enemy) on the part of the A.I. will be the end of them as you pick out and shoot at the device create and create a fiery explosion .
3.) Diverse Weapons
Players will start with a small blunt object and the developers hinted at a possible inclusion of a knife in the final game. Gradually more weapons will come to the player in the course of the single player campaign. Here is an exclusive sneak peak at some of the weapons in the final game:
Handgun
Shotgun (alt fire - shoot two barrels at once!)
Machine Gun (alt fire - shoot a small grenade)
Sniper Rifle
Rocket Launcher
Flame Thrower
With these excellent blend of innovative, yet strangely familiar, weapons the Killzone sequel will set itself from the pack of other FPS games to date.
4.) Vehicle Segments
There will be a part (or parts! scoop!) where your squad member will jump in the back of a jeep and man a turret. You will get rid of ground level enemies with great ease but enemy vehicles will give you a run for your money.
A game quite as original and immersive as Killzone 2 has never been attempted before and it is the same novel and brave concepts that will clearly make Killzone 2 the greatest FPS ever created in the history of human beings.

Dude I thought you were being serious for a second on the Citizen Kane quote. Pretty funny, I hope that KZ2 will be a lot better than the first which was not bad, just very bland and I personally felt the controls were awkward.

Hilarious.
Though I am still holding out for the actual game before I decide it will suck like the first one. I like the Helghast and the washed-out "black and white"-looking environments. It seems wholly derivative, but at the same time I can't think of a game exactly like KZ. It looks frantic like COD4 in a futuristic setting, but doesn't involve aliens as far as I know. If the game is good and long with balanced MP I will buy it, even if it's completely unoriginal it can still be a lot of fun. I will not discount the possibility of it sucking ass, though. Anyway, I liked the blog post.
