I'm a very happy girl. I ventured into Japantown in San Francisco this past Saturday with a friend to do research for her Brownie troop. We oooh at all of the pretty kimonos, ahhhhh at the traditional architecture, giggled at the various lucky cats in every store, and salivated over the various candies that you can't get in normal stores.
But then, I saw him. Those eyes, that hat, the overalls... the whole package was utterly entrancing. I had to have him. I ventured over shyly and then stroked his oh so soft cheek. Finally, I told the clerk I would have him, as long as I could afford him.
And now I do.
(Mine is actually a bit bigger and I can pose his arms, but I couldn't find a picture online).

"Did you see anything?"
"No sir, I didn't see you playing with your dolls again!"
"Good!"
I wish I lived somewhere cool where I could get stuff like that... damn country.
And @laughlyn12 the only reason I could find this in stores was because I was in Japantown, where there are a town of imports. If I didn't live close to SF there would be no way. And if I lived in most of the US that would be true. Is there any strong asian communities in the UK?
No, it isn't my hand and it isn't a picture of the exact one I got. I looked online for a picture of my exact toy and couldn't find one. My Mario is about 7-8 inches tall, has posable arms and is more to cuddle against my chest than hold in my hand. I'd take a picture but I only have a camera phone, not a nice digital camera.
@luisen123 He was only USD$29.99.
While Mario may live in my home I don't think I know him well enough to check. Beyond which my boyfriend might get a wee bit jealous.
