Hi every one, first of all happy 2008.

Sometimes when you spend hours daily reading stuff about Video Games suddenly (at least in my case) you feel the urge to post something about it. In this case 2 things above many are constantly in my thoughts:

Something may not be quite good in the famous GOW franchise

Folding @ home is loosing processing power

What is the matter with the GOW franchise which thousands of people had the chance to play and enjoy, I mean the consumer, because in the other side it seems that something is going on since the director of each one is always different. First, the man who shocked us with this original concept and father of the multi award winner franchise: David Jaffe, Second: Cory Barlog and the not yet released Chains of Olympus by Ready at Dawn (I'll skip the mobile version Betrayal).

It's known that the involvement of Jaffe on the franchise never finished, but IMO if you have a great game that can be pushed further wouldn't you just stick around as The Man? The case of Barlog is different because now he is in pursue of other things leaving GOW III "in good hands", and Ready at Dawn is preparing to move in to something "really big".

So what is it? Did the first iteration left pretty high standards for the "common human" and the challenge of another one has more weight than a "normal" game? Maybe the families of the developers also end up exhausted for their missing relatives? I'm not trying to make a novel about it but if you know something that I don't please share so one of my "concerns" can rest in peace.

F@Home

Since the Stanford University included the PS3 in their distributed computing network they saved if not years weeks and it was amazing to compare PC's (Windows, Mac, Linux) and GPU vs the PS3, it reminds me the (Wii vs the rest in Japan lol), at this time the results are still incomparable a few minutes ago everything but the PS3 = 273 TeraFlops and the PS3 = 762, together they pass the Pentaflop barrier.

But just a few weeks ago only the PS3 was measured in Pentaflops (actually 1). And the number of new clients is still going up, so what's happening? Are we still playing a lot the great games that 2007 gave us so we are kinda greedy to share some processing power? Did our economy just couldn't take it any more because the electric bill grew considerably? (When I borrowed my PS3 my bill got multiplied by 2 so I decided to just share my computer) Or maybe the "Fad" is passing? Again please share your reasons or theories.

Before I go, I want to share something else: I've been recently playing The Eye of Judgment , a game that merges actual cards with the PS3 Eye camera and internet if you want to battle around the world instead of the computer or better a friend. I bought it as an opportunity to get the camera and a game for a little more (even got it for 15 bucks less). At first I was not to fond to it because although I like TCG, Ninja Gaiden, Warhawk, COD4, and UT3 got me, but suddenly I payed it a little more attention and kinda regret for not playing it more before, I'm totally hooked and a friend of mine (thanks again Nerilika) just shared me a page devoted only to this game in which you can join to tournaments, get a lot of info from the experts and have a blast, so if you wanna check it out:

Ok, enough for today, thanks for reading and good gaming to you all!

Man, is the world crazy or Nintendo's momentum is better than ever? Despite the shortages the Wii is the #1 selling video game product in Amazon (in the US) even though they don't have it, only other sellers, and the cheapest is only $517 usd!!!

I would be much cheaper to get a PS3 or a 360, but I guess with all the noise and terrific sales there are many who would pay whatever it costs

I do enjoy it now that I bought Super Mario Galaxy and the fun will continue with Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Paper Mario (the Game Cube version 9 bucks is a helluva price for it )

But despite all this my #1 will still be PS3.

That's all Folks!

After some time of posting and reading comments, in this and other sites, related to one of the 3 companies the most simple and "harmless" article brings a massacre among people who feels the need to praise one console and throw dirt at the others, and the types of entries vary in many levels: Anger, jealousy, sarcasm, discrimination, the need to show off, and the list goes on.

What make us behave like that? Do we need to hate in order to feel better? Are we trying to justify why we picked a console and deep inside we wish we had chosen another? Does the evolution and new things each company has to offer makes us hesitate about being "right"? All three consoles are selling, in different proportions, what do we care who is leading if all of them are getting games?

What kind of pleasure do we get by arguing with someone we do not know in person (most of the times), Are we scared that our choice will "lose"?

I confess that I've done it , but the feeling left inside is not satisfying (I am a fanboy, but not a "hater" of the fanboys of the other consoles), the "war" is among the companies who are trying to get our bucks, we are consumers, we spend our money in the goods we choose, we can buy (if our budget allows it) all three, or 2 of 1, whatever your desire it's your money.

I can understand that for people belonging to something is good and in fact a need, we can share, socialize with the ones fond to "our cause", but that does not mean that we have to overlook or exclude groups that seek other interests.

If we need to focus some dissatisfactions in our gamer self why don't we target it to the real "guilty" i.e. Sony: games, MS RROD, Nintendo: less casual and more hard core (choose your poison, those were just suggestions )

We are gamers, we love games, why don't we embrace that and let go the destructive behaviors?

Good gaming everyone!

Some people just don't have opinions. Like David_I.
David_I must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could David_I possibly have for not rating a single film?
