I thought about talking about this album and it's creation a while ago but now I am more apt. to actually do it.

"Heaven Knows" was and is the most unique album I've ever written. It came after a point in my life that lead to some sort of a master revalation. I was just out of high school (okay 2 years) and my high school sweet heart had been unfaithful all our years together. I spent two years following my graduation single. Then one day and purely by luck, we bumped into each other at starbucks. I went home that night and thought about that accurance until I literaly said allowed "heaven knows." The song soon followed.

Other musicians who've composed for a long part of their live(s) will tell you, any melodie that spins and sticks in your head is a hit. It doesn't have to be lyriclly valid, or rythmically symbolic, it just has to be able to sit in your head until you're damn near sick of it. The intro for "Heaven Knows" just came to me one day, on a day I wasn't even thinking about writing it. Then BOOM! like a tsunamis it hit me. The intro into the verses were easy to place. And the verses themselves were primarily the intro just a lil' bit tweaked. The trick was the chorus(es.)

So the verses we complete melodically, and some of the other instruments' parts had been written at this point. But something was missing. I had to remember some of the feelings we've all had or will have when some one hurts us in such a manner that time after time we see the past we shared with them, in some one else you; I; we love today. That was how I came up with the transitions. ("Seasons change...") But I still was stuck on the chorus(s.) How could I come up with something the listener would want to hear story-wise and reflect a melody that would come across pleasing to the listener's ear.

Remarkably, it came after meeting some one new. My partner and I had a discussion one night about our pasts, looking forward to the future. Then I had what I needed. I remembered one of my first songs I wrote in my childhood and tweaked it to fit melodically and rhythemically and ta-da: "Heaven Knows" was written and finalized that night!

From that I learned how to write all the songs on the album. And this album is unfinished... so keep looking and listening for more-
