So I jst today became aware that at Comic-Con this year at a press table interview with James Cameron he was probed about his next movie to use his ground-breaking Avatar cmera tecnology-a live action take on the manga and anime Battle Angel Alita.
Battle Angel happens to be my favorite manga EVE and when I head about someone as magnificent as Cameron, not only directing but implementing his new movie-altering tech, on a live action american version I absolutley plotzed with excitement! The storyand character will absolutley make an intriguing tale to end all tales.
Though now he's quoted as saying that he still has interest and very much likes Battle Angel, but is waiting to see if Avatar flops, has some other ideas in the works, and is apprehensive to go right into another big busget FX movie (what!?!). So my heart and life are temporarily shattered awaiting the news that he decides to go through with it for 2011. Youtube has a short video of the comment if the link doesn't work.
So finally having the Metroid Prime Trilogy in my Wii and playing for two days straight I can confirm it's as great as we were all hoping. A legitimate "review" would be a little silly as they are three games that are well know to be excellent. Of course, they remain that way.
As far as the package and presentational aspects, they deliver completely and are nothing if not top notch. As far as any gripes I havethere really only appears to be one. And this is one I've posted a thread about already. But each of the three game's individual menus being removed and replaced by a universal "Trilogy" menu is a nice comprehensive touch to bring the experience together and make it feel like one game with three adventures, but as any fan of the original releases might find, not having the opening cinemas and main theme songs feels somewhat like a loss. Not because they affetc the gameplay or most of the presentaional issues, but because they are part of the original experience we would hope wuold remain a part of this experience. A sad loss indeed.
Other than that the game and main menu are great! The updated lighting, texture, and widescreen effects are superb. running on component on an HD tv the game is as stunning as ever (when referring to Prime and Echoes). The Corruption control scheme being implemented into the GC games is just as we all dreamed. Silky smooth and enhancing to the already stellar gameplay. This truly is an experience worth taking both for the first time, or for your fifth time.
I have recently had the pleasure of playing and finally completing De Blob on the Wii. I must say that without an ounce of a doubt that it is one of the finest video game experiences that we are priveledged to have available to us.

For those of you gamers unfamiliar, which will be most of you since so many self-titled "gamers" overlook what makes the Wii great, de Blob is a simple premise. Play a blob creature to paint various buildings in towns different colors. But make no mistake, it is deep, it is challenging, it is gorgeous, and it is "hard core".

It is a masterwork of video game craft and the art of game design. Everyone reading this probably would look at the game, scoff, and pick back up their next generic 360 shooter or cliched beat-em-up (many of which I myself also enjoy). But do not think that this game holds nothing for you. It deserves that every gamer from all walks of life play it.
Do not discount the Wii as a hard core techy game machine if you make conscious efforts to ignore the awesome software constantly coming out for the system that ONLY the Wii can produce. De Blob is solid gold and culminates in one of the most complete and appropriately challenging final boss fights of the last ten years. The option to discover something you haven't seen before is right in front of you and if you decide not to sieze it...I guarantee that you are the one missing out and the rest of us will be sleeping with a more complete video gaming life in our grasp.

So I emplore all of you gamers out there to put down your Gears of War, your Halo, yourCall of Duty (all of which I absolutley adore btw), and broaden your horizons and please please see what other amazing and special gaming worlds are being offered to you outside of you bloody filled, Xbox live boxes. Games without guns and normal mapping can be bloody brilliant as well.
