GS's reviews are such BS anyway, I don't even pay attention to them anymore. >.>

Too many games getting 10s.
Not every game that's popular really deserves to be that high.

Gamespot is only copying IGN, dude. Whenever IGN give games 10 Gamespot gives games 10.

what i noticed is; SSBB is even more overrated than Halo...

and too many games getting 10s ? its only 6 in 10 years total ?

people act this way just because their favorite game ( SSBB mostly ) didnt get 10...

i dont believe these games should get tens, but brawl shouldnt either. not saying it should get a low score, brawl deserves a 9.5, because its fun and all, but even with the added storyline trully the main purpose is to unlock all characters and beat your friends with unique matches of different contestents. other than that, the game was excellent.

hey dont say TOO many games are getting 10's, only two games got 10 this year, and yes maybe they don't deserve 10, but they're the close to, we should blame the rate system, it only works on .5s , so that IS the reason of the 10, otherwise, GS would have give to them 9.7 or 9.8.

I agree with Bahamut. It's down to the rating system. But I personally think that Super Mario Galaxy deserved the scores he described, but it only got a 9.5. How odd...

MGS 4 deserves a 10.
GTA 4 doesnt.
brawl deserves a 9.7 (theres something missing that i dont know, but it was in melee and isnt in brawl. something that made me want to come back and play more...)

i TOTALLY agree with your opinion....WHATS WITH ALL THESE 10s?!??! The only reason these games got 10s, is because Gamespot changed their good rating system, to a sucky crap one that goes by .5s. It would have been more precise if it went by Gameplay,Graphics,Sound,etc. The only games that TRULY deserved its 10....is Chrono Cross, and LOZ:Ocarina of Time. Thats it. Those games dont compare to the two i just listed...i mean it would have been more reasonable if MGS4 and GTA4 got like...a 9.7, but NO, gamespot had to change its already good rating system to a bad less precise one. My friends bash me on this all the time, but its all too true. Gears of War and such got precise scores, i betcha it could have gotten a 10 if they were using the same rating system they use now.

Why in the heck would GS do that. Zerograv has a point though. Maybe it Brawl don't deserve a 10 but I'll tell u this. Brawl is a kiler game. GTA4 isn't even worth a straight 10 anyway with all that f***ing violence and stuff. MGS4 i say it was good but a 9.6 or 7 would have been a goood score. Wiixx3 makes a good point also. Haven't u guys noticed that everygame IGN give a 10 GS give a 10. GS need to leave ign alone and worry about their rating system. I tell u changing the rating system was bad. No more reviews for me.

After beating MGS4... I've got to agree with that 10. It ties up the series so well, the over all gameplay (sneaking, shooting, customize weapons, etc) is spot on, the changes they've made is great, and the story is one that I won't be forgetting anytime soon. So I do agree with that 10.

It's just GameSpot is just copying off other reviews so they don't look like their bashing the games. They aren't even original in their reviews, I think they actually copied off IGN at one point.
