Chapter 3: Familiar Pt 1
Junsaki was waiting on Sabaki inside the Equipment Room. He came in with his hands behind his back.
"I finished the adjustments on your onsa" Sabaki said.
Junsaki took the onsa from his palm and examined the silver tip and police blue handle.
"Thanks" he said.
Taekatsuki and Naitoki came in to the room as well, both now equipped with a new trigger. Sabaki lead them down a stairwell.
"Anyway. We have a problem. Since Natsumi was nearly kidnapped and eaten yesterday, it means we need to learn how to sense Makamou now. For that reason, the higher ups in control of the Takeshi Production have ordered that all Oni are to get a hold of a Familiar" Sabaki explained.
*Note 5: Natsumi will become an Oni next chapter.
Nibairuki walked into the city square and began to fight in a boxing style against a makamou. His gloves were surrounded by snow and ice as he kicked its ass with repeated blows to its chest. It froze up and was shattered.
*Note 6: Nibairuki made an apearance.
"What the hell is a Familiar?" Naitoki blurted out.
"In the times of the Salem Witch Trials, cats were believed to be demons partnered upto witches called Familiars" Taekatsuki explained.
"Correct. However, this is not what they are used for. You see, Familiars are animals disguised as pets who are partnered with oni. They act as trackers in times of need and can be used in battle. They are the most accurate tracking method. Usually percussion demons and brass/woodwind demons are usually given cats due to their speed and agility. String demons use dogs" Sabaki explained.
He opened a door to a room filled with cats. A black burmese(yes I looked up breeds) ran up and rubbed its head against Sabaki's leg.
"Hey Ryu" he said picking up the cat.
"So, how does this work?" Junsaki asked, scratching Ryu's head.
"Just try to find a cat, then train with it for twenty-four straight hours. The spell on it will then allow it to recognize you as it owner." Sabaki said as he continued to pet Ryu "Naitoki, the dogs are in the next room over, we had to keep the two seperate".
Naitoki found an adjourning door and saw a room full of dogs. "Why do I need a dog to find my kills for me?" he said.
Junsaki, always being a fan of animals, began to look around at the cats. He saw a brown furred Savannah. It was just sitting at the wall, seemingly annoyed at the others. It noticed Junsaki and walked over to him.
"A half breed? Is it even legal in this country to own a housecat/wild cat hybrid?" Junsaki asked.
*I don't know. I am not doing anymore research! I am not even looking into a dog breed!*
Junsaki picked up the Savanna and began to pet it.
"Anyone claimed this little guy? Junsaki asked his mentor.
"The savannah? No, this little guys too has been too hard headed to train in the past" Sabaki responded.
"I want to try it" Junsaki said, petting the cat "How'd you like that Shiro?"
"Shiro?' Sabaki asked.
"Yeah" Junsaki said, setting the Shiro down. The cat looked at him with annoyance and walked towards the front door and began to scratch at it. Taekatsuki walked up to Junsaki with a silver and black british shorthair.
"I got mine. Right Edward?" he said jesturing to the cat by his side.
Naitoki walked in, outdoing them both. Next to him was a full sized mix of a black lab and a wolf.
"Alright" Sabaki said. He removed three military dog tags from his pocket. These landed around the teens necks. A collar bearing a matching tag appeared around the necks of there familiars, bearing the familiars name.
"Teach them anything they will need in this twenty-four hour period. Head back out to the training grounds. Your time will start at midnight, which is in an hour by the way. Gather any needed weapons and supplies now" Sabaki said pointing the way out.
*Junsaki*
Junsaki walked into the weapons room. He had decided to switch his drumsticks out, His new ones had a pair of retractable blades in thetip. He then got out enough food, a sleeping bag, and programed his cellphone to go off every hour start at midnight.
*Taekatsuki*
Tae got some food to get ready.
