Just a quick rant here. I see yet another patch for Team Fortress 2 is coming for the PC to fix issues involving all of the additional content happy PC users of the game received. This got me thinking, how ironic, probably a quarter of TF2 PC players pirated the game yet Valve (via Steam) still gives them 5 star support. While if your an XBox 360 user you still have squat. None of the goodies Steam members enjoy, although you paid perfectly good money for The Orange Box. Many blame Microsoft for blocking the way but I don't buy it. Valve can't fall on the "We don't want to charge for content" sword because I'm sure the soon to come Left 4 Dead DLC will be a nice round 800-1200 Micro$oft points. Criterion was permitted to offer free content for Burnout Paradise so I can't imagine Valve would have been blocked for doing the same. It's a shame because TF2 is a lot of fun and deserves to be played as much as other more popular online games but lobbies in the game are like ghost towns. It seems to me Valve is not as virtuous as thier reputation seems to indicate. More than likely it was a simple matter of not being able to agree on thier cut that has kept Team Fortress 2 a tired, old game.

That sucks. I mean I wish they would give us something, anything. Doesn't have to big just something from them saying "hey thanks for being loyal fans we appreciate it". Sadly that does not happen any more its all give me the money fools. I guess Mr.T is running them.

Valve isn't supporting any pirated copies, you can't play on Steam's network with a pirated copy. The best you could hope to do is play on some pirate servers which won't receive updates, unless someone hacks an update to work with their servers.

It does suck though, that you console players aren't getting the updates.

@Gunny: fair enough, but still, why absolutely ZERO support for the 360? I'm glad the thieves can't get the new acheivements and other add-ons but it's clearly a case of the console being treated as a second class citizen. However, our money was as gladly accepted as PC fans' was.

Dude I feel ya, I think that why there is no content for ut3, because microsoft doesn't want to give content for free, I can only imagine how much money Frito Lay paid for the doritos arcade game, you know they paid, it's advertising. Greed is a mothafuka

Yep, one of the reasons I used to like/ am starting to like computers as a gaming platform a bit more. Official updates all the time for highly used products and unoffical updates by fans of games that are less popular. Best of all it is all FREE. If I wasn't so dang atached to my achievements I wouldn't play my 360 much anymore.

This topic warrants endless discussion on the Team Fortress forums. It's so sad, but we can't stop talking about it, like a lost war or something (lost Superbowl, heh). I'm suing Valve for exacerbating my drinking problem.
