Ack!!! I have missed you all soooo much! Its just been hitting me that I am down to less than 4 months to go before the wedding and my to-do lists aren't getting any smaller! So, working on the wedding projects is leaving me no internet escape time. Until tonight, I am saying to hell with it! I need my TV.com!!!

::I Do Diaries::

The realization that I have less than 4 months to go is hitting me hard and I am franticly going over to-do lists, check lists, ideas, notes, etc making sure that I am on top of it all and that it will all get done! I've started wrapping napkins, but of course since I am a perfectionist, it took 3 1/2 hours to do 30 of them!! And I've been playing around with table designs and finally got it figured out how I want to set them up. I need to find a fake pumpkin so I can set up the full look and take a picture to show you! Its looking like it is going to all come together quite nicely on a dime budget! =) Everyone keeps telling me my less than $5,000 wedding is going to look like at least a $20,000 wedding! =) So yay! Goal accomplished, so far anyways! =)

::How to I Do::

I've almost got a couple of my big do-it-yourself projects done, so when they are completed I'll post pictures of the look I was copying vs what I came up with.

::Platinum Weddings::

So I am usually not into pop/hip-hop/rap or anything like that, but since I need some dance tunes for bootie shaking at my wedding when we're all drunk and feelin good, I have been trying to pay attention to current songs. So I heard this song on So You Think You Can Dance (my guilty pleasure show) and downloaded the full version and I have to admit, I really really really like it. I can't help but move to it. So its a definite tune being played at the wedding.

::Wedding Altered::

The custom of a double-ring ceremony, in which the groom as well as the bride receives a ring, appeared first in America in the 1940's.

During the Victorian period, wealthier brides began wearing white gowns to show they could afford a special dress they would only wear once.

In early times of marriage women were thought of as property and the ring was a sort of leash or band of property. The earliest evidence of wedding rings dates back to around 2800 B.C. in Egypt.

The groom's cake tradition is strongest in the Southern part of the U.S.

In ancient times the garter represented the virginal girdle; thus, the groom's removal of the garter meant the relinquishment of that status.

In Poland, it is believed that sprinkling sugar on a bride's bouquet keeps her temper sweet.

Aisle runners were originally used to treat the bride as royalty and keep her from walking on the same ground as "commoners".

::Til Death Do Us Part::

So I am totally sorry I haven't been around much lately, but it seems like it will be a trend in the months to come with everything I've got to do (on my own, BTW, no one in the wedding party is offering help besides my mom and my honorary girls that live many moons away). But I promise to try to jump on and keep up with everyone. I am going to try to go catch some blogs right now before I head off to dream land. Love and hugs to all my TV.com friends!

Some of those dresses were horrid!!! 4 Months the time really is going to fly! I can image it being way stressful to try and have some time out every now and again to relax. Its lovely of your mum to help even if other people aren't. I'm very intrigued to see the pictures of your 'projects' as i love arts and crafty things. If you need anything give me a pm. Love and Hugs.

Just don't let all the wedding plans drive you totally insane, there'll be plenty of time to come here after the ceremony. Just try and have fun with it all, don't over stress, and take lots of deep breaths.

BRIDE'S BACK, YAY! I missed you love! Those pictures were hilarious; those dresses are truly hanus! My faves were totally the irridesent purple-ish blue ones, and the one underneath that, the white with some sort of pattern--flowers maybe? Those were so ugly, like, I'd-die-before-I-wore-that ugly.

Okay, seriously, I'm about to catch the next flight over to Texas and help you out with the wedding. Those bridesmaids of yours SUCK, if you don't mind me saying so. And I'm really not even that far away, New York and Texas are practically like neighbors! I just wish there was something I could do.

Okay, on a happier note-- *joins Luv on the trampoline, jumping and singing at the top of her lungs* "I'M IN BRIDE'S WEDDING AND MV'S MY DATE!!". Yep, totally singing in real life too.
Posted Jul 17, 2007 1:23 pm PT
Glad to see you back.
Posted Jul 17, 2007 3:34 pm PT
Okay, I am on lunch here, so I will comment later, but let me join in the fun:
*joins Dee and Luv on the Trampoline and starts jumping and singing louder than naturally allowed "I'M IN BRIDE'S WEDDING AND DB'S MY DATE!!!"*

Okay, freaky coincidence, the last pic of the ugy bridesmaid dresses: My mom had the exact same dresses for her bridesmaids, like exactly. Freaky

Whoa! Holy hell! 18 new comments upon coming back tonight! I feel so loved! yay!
Posted Jul 17, 2007 8:49 pm PT
Linda- I know, they are hideous! I can't wait for round 2 of bad bridesmaids dresses, they are just as bad if not worse!

My mom is so great, helping even when she's sick. I wish the fully capable would hop on board the train.

I am going to try to finish up a couple of projects tonight and I am shooting to post them with my next blog. I am looking forward to your thoughts being a crafty girl! =) Cross your fingers I can get everything to turn out right!

Msblakelewis - Yeah, I am pretty sure it was Neil and Lauren!
Posted Jul 17, 2007 9:36 pm PT
Yay! Joey and another comment a-palooza! You are so great! Yes, perfectionists do drive themselves crazy. I am living proof because I am totally insane and its all my own fault!

No masturbation just me going to show off all my hard work and bask in the glow of ooohhhs and aaahhhs. lol! =)

Ya gotta have some dance tunes in the mix, plus I figure when we've all had too many, pretty much anything is going to be fun to dance to!=)

Glad you liked my blog! It was kinda shortened do to the last-minute throwing togetherness of it all!

I gotta go check in and see what I've been missing over on your blog! I am sure there is lots and lots to see!
Posted Jul 17, 2007 9:40 pm PT
smgslayer - OMG! Yeah, ya'll will totally be sick of me post wedding because I will be back to having nothing to do late at night!
Posted Jul 17, 2007 9:45 pm PT
Em - Movies and Tv shows totally make you think you've got a big support system when you get married but its so not that way. I've even got a bridesmaid not coming to my d@mn bridal shower! And she hasn't even offered to do ANYTHING help wise. Well, no one has really. But if they show up as my decorating team in the days leading up, I am going to work their @sses off. OMG. Thats scary, what if no one helps me set up?? I am really hoping to avoid the exhaustion come wedding day, but without a planner, you've literally got to do EVERYTHING yourself. Which is why I am trying to get as much done pre-wedding as possible!

The online moral support works wonders! So thanks for everything! Just knowing that I can come here and vent to great people who always have intelligent things to say, is a great stress relief!
Posted Jul 17, 2007 9:51 pm PT
Dee - Thanks for stopping by hun!! I missed you too!!! Yeah, its amazing what the decades have done to bridesmaids dresses! Hopefully I wont look back on my wedding and think "OMG! Why?" lol!

Sure, NY and Tx are so close, its a hop skip and a jump! =) But the help would be appreciated for SURE! =)
Posted Jul 17, 2007 10:11 pm PT
Thanks Auntie!!!
Posted Jul 17, 2007 10:16 pm PT
Boozy - Wow! That is freakin crazy!!! What a coincidence!!
Posted Jul 17, 2007 10:17 pm PT
OhB - Waiting for your thoughts!! =)
Posted Jul 17, 2007 10:17 pm PT
Howdy! Okay, I have to join the trend:
*Jumps on trampoline* I'M IN BRIDE'S WEDDING, AND MY FELLOW STRETCHY IS MY DATE!!!
That was fun! Those bridesmaids dresses were very scary...I'm so glad you didn't make us wear them! Funnily enough, that red taffeta one looked like the dresses my mum had at her and my dads wedding... shudder.

I'm very tempted to jump on a plane and come help you with the preps (and give your other "bridesmaids" a piece of my mind) but sadly, exams are on in 4 months. Everyone tells me that I was born to organise things, so I could come and be your wedding supervisor...but school comes first. Good luck with it all!
Posted Jul 18, 2007 5:44 am PT
Hiya Bride, sorry to have been kindof a sucky bridesmaid lately, mea culpa! I haven't been able to go online because of a sucky ISP. It's fixed now but I am so busy at work that I hardly have time to catch up with things...

With you in thoughts though!!
