It should be called the top 100 apples and oranges of all time. Given the recent gaming explosion they need to start breaking these lists down into genres. They could use categories like 2D, 3D, platformer, etc. Super Mario Bros. was a revelation in its day but can't seriously be considered better than HL 1/2 or System Shock 2.
