The Fire emblem games: The decline

Time to talk about something near and dear to me, how the fire emblem games, mostly their stories, have been dropping in quality over each iteration.

So, let's start with the first american release, which was simply called fire emblem. You might know that I ranked this as my 5th favorite game of all time, and that's for one simple reason: The game is so tightly made and polished. everything is made to keep the difficulty, the fun, the story, all flowing at an even pace.

The game really has an excellent story. The characters are well written, and there are some truly tragic moments. I didn't like the whole "oh, man, we gotta go back to THE SAME EXACT ISLAND we went to halfway through the game!" plotline, but hey, whatever. I also liked how you could play a modified version of the main story, but told from another main character's perspective. That really added to the story. I would up playing the story over and over angain.

So, this game is the benchmark for all the other FE games in my opinion. Me and Tissueshoe must have beaten this game over 15 times, trying to make the best team of characters.

And you get to control a 900 year old guy named athos who's got some sweet hair.
