It was early summer, and I had just seen the trailer to 9. It looked cool to say the least. Tim Burton was highlighted as the producer for the film, who I think is a brilliant filmmaker. I was sold. As time went on, the trailers kept airing on TV, and I was ready for September 9th to see the movie. I look at movie times online, and realize the movies only 80 minutes long. I was a little discouraged, but still pretty excited to see the movie. I get in the theater and as the movie goes on, I realize the movie was so overhyped. The entire movie is dark and gloomy that you cant help but feel like you should be in a bad mood. There aren't enough characters. You have the nine good guys, but there's only one bad guy for a good part of the movie. The whole thing was such a downer. The worst part was the ending made me feel like the story was unfinished. They definitely used Tim Burton's name as a crutch to fill the seats, and I hate to say it, but I fell for it.
I never blog about about recent games, but this game is amazing. It has so many elements from so many games and feels realistic even though it involves a bunch of guys running around in Halloween costumes. The entire story happens over the course of one night, which makes it seem like a short game, but there is so much to do besides the story that it can take so much longer to completely finish the game. The Riddler isn't a boss in the game, but he does leave various riddles and trophies around the asylum for Batman to collect to add to the percentage completed for the game. I love these kinds of things. It allows you to stop and smell the virtual roses and appreciate the intricate levels that took so long to create. There are also upgrades along the way, which makes the fights less repetitive and give you something to try to achieve. The bosses are an excellent group. I know many were missing, but Poison Ivy and Bane were necessary bosses if you know the plant/venom/titan tie in to the story. Killer Croc was the eye candy of bosses, being enormous, even though the actual fight left you wanting more. Joker had to be in the game and deservingly so being the arch-nemesis of Batman. It was natural for Harley Quinn to be by his side. LAstly, Scarecrow gave gamers a break from "reality" and single handedly created an alternative type level that only he could do. All in all, it really is amazing. The graphics, the story, the gameplay, everything. You don't have to buy it, but you should definitely give it a whirl one way or another.
I don't see the reason why it's necessary to wear suits to work. I work in a finance office building where the only interaction you have with customers is if you have to call them for whatever reason. There's honestly no need to look professional, but they have us dressed up like we're heading to a wedding after work. I'm still young, so when I go on my lunch break, I feel like an idiot going into a Subway or wherever looking like I'm trying too hard. Plus my work sells "jeans days" to workers who are willing to pay the multi-billion dollar company if they want to dress casually. They basically are bribing us and pocketing the money. It would be one thing if they gave the money to a charity or something, which is what I thought they were doing, but they don't. Truly low on their part.
