Interesting point of view on sex-ed with a word about capitalist American!
I think most of you are missing the point of what he means about sex in games. Yes it would be mildly awkward to see zelda&link have sex (4chan), although Nintendo would never do this even if it had the power to. Why! Because this is a choice the artist made.
This is what he is talking about, when he explains on how he has to change a whole bunches of things into his game "Lair" to make it work with the system. He is saying that the art that he created (with the help of a few hondred people) is being modified before it's released. You can compare it to Picasso being ask to change his painting, since the "high placed" people and other painters think it's not suitable or appropriate. A game is a work of a few years and thousands of dreams. Modifying it before you can even release it to the world hurts the creators and the piece of art that come out of it.
As for the Rating system I think it should stay, somewhat modified, but more on the side of the consequences. As it should not have a year restriction but should only be bought by the parents if they think the game is suitable for them. And for parents that don't understand video games theirs should be a community to help protect parents, but they could only give recommendations, which could be released in the form of a monthly magazine paid by the video game distributors. MOST IMPORTANT as a right of freedom of speech I think that no movies, no text, no songs, no painting, no poem, no sculpture, no video games or neither any kind of art expression should be ban from anyone.
Wait up bunny! Don't go and take the Nazi flag outside just because it's art. Everything has to be measured in balanced. Society asks you to use your judgment before doing things. EX: "Ok. You don't want to hear about black people. FINE! But don't go out there and scream it out loud saying they are evil or something trying to convince everyone."
Each of us should have not only the freedom but the right to make our own decision, letting a company, a government or a "public" grouping saying what you are about to say or not, is wrong but it's to you to see if the law that they impose upon you are right for you.
Ok Ok! I know that sound anarchic; even if that wasn't the point at the starting.(I got run over by some of theses comments... -_-' ) But in general I am simply saying that he is right in the matter of fact that there is new limit to establish and it is really hard to release a master piece without breaking one or two glasses.
...
that was deep!
:S almost kinda scary actually XD
