As anyone who knows knows, I'm not much on blogging (and not very good at it). But, as I reach my two year anniversary here at TV.com, I feel a strong need to thank some wonderful folks and great friends who have helped me to stay on board and make it to this point. As they each know, all too well, I can ask way too many questions (i.e. I can be a real pain in the ...). The short notes next to their names fail to do them justice and certainly don't explain how much their friendship and help have meant to me. There are many walls, mine fields and secret password mysteries to confound newbies here at TVdotcomland. These folks, however, are some of the beacons and bridges. I only wish I knew better how to express my profound gratitude and thanks to each one of them .,.

As those four fabulous lads from Liverpool sang so long ago : I get by with a little help from my friends.

Beacons and Bridges [In the order of appearance (more-or-less)]

Kristhetvgirl2

A simply wonderful Canadian lady who encouraged an often confused and discouraged newbie, showing him more patience than he ever could've expected.

danbambridge

A warm and friendly English person (I love everything English) who has magical powers and shares his time and knowledge with mere mortals like me.

more_ncis_now

Another wonderful English person (did I mention ...) who has patiently initiated me into the mysteries of the eternal guide wars, and so very much more.

lowriderz95s10

A fellow sci fi freak and baseball fan who trusted my work, allowed me to grow and helped me out with great tips and pointers, answering many questions along the way.

angelandspike

A wondrous Texas neighbor who went way beyond the call and showed great patience in helping me to get Shadowfax (my computer) to play well with TV.com's server when I first became an editor.

m00nshadow

My first and best-est friend encountered here at TV.com (and we all know one can never have enough real friends to support you and keep you in line). We are learning the ropes together ...

While I am honored by the shout out, I feel it is I who should be thanking you as your work on the Sanctuary and Terminator guides have helped me greatly.

La Russa wasn't going to play Kennedy anyway and since there were no trade partners they released him so he could find another job before he season. There are several options in the organization with Skip Schumaker being ideal as he can hit leadoff if not they still have money left for Mark Grudzielanek and possibly Hudson if his price falls. But the good news is Carpenter appears healthy finally.

Well, when they benched Kennedy and started playing Lopez last year, I know he was unhappy and asked to be traded, but then they didn't even make an offer to Lopez. From what I hear (and I'm sure your info is better), none of their minor leaguers are ready. For me, that was the surprise. At least Kennedy hit .280 (no power), even if he and Tony didn't get along, but ... Now if they can land Hudson, that is a major upgrade and makes them stronger. So for your sake, not to offend any Cubs fans, I hope they land him. Can't wait. Unfortunately for my guys, A-Rod decided he didn't have enough baggage already and bought a whole new set. Barf.

Lopez wanted a multiyear deal at the end of the season and then all of the sudden took a one year deal. If he had indicated he would do that they would have signed him. If Skip can't cut it at second then there is Joe Thurston who had a great year at AAA for Boston last year and Brenden Ryan who has good speed and plays solid defense.

I was originally thinking of the Terminator forum, but they both work, don't they? I think I should send "VoV" a little thank-you pm. Without her, it might never have happened. LOL!
Posted Feb 18, 2009 12:15 pm PT
m00n : I Love It! Yes, I had forgotten about, well, VOV (who shall remain nameless). The thanks are on me. (rolls on floor laughing like a fool) I would love to! Do you think she'd see that it's a good thing?
Posted Feb 18, 2009 6:22 pm PT
I'm pretty sure she'd think it was the most mysterious pm she's ever gotten on THIS site! Honestly, I don't think she's got much going on in the sense-of-humor department.... Say, congrats on "Anchorman"! Another milestone. Ahhhh, I remember like it was yesterday when you were only "sweet sixteen."
