So, i ultimately decided to get Bioshock over Metroid Prime 3, and beat it not too long ago. All in all, it's definitely one of my favorite games. The setting was absolutely phenomenal. The story knocked my socks off (that twist in the middle blew my mind), and i really love the subtext of Objectivism. I read Anthem a few years ago, the Fountainhead in June, and started Atlas Shrugged (gave up about 300 pages in...1200 pages?!), and seeing something like "A man chooses, a slave obeys" in a videogame, wow. Best game purchase i've made for ages.
Anybody remember that audiotape you find just before the plot twist about suchong telling a boy to snap a puppy's neck? Wow, when i heard that on my second playthrough, i realized who the kid was, and when i tried picturing that scene of a little boy, being commanded to kill a puppy, sobbing with tears, helpless to his master's request ...it's the saddest i've ever felt from playing a game.
Okay, here's a problem i've been struggling with for a little bit now. Which game should i get, Bioshock or Metroid Prime 3: Corruption? Due to some monetary restrictions, i can only get one game this month. I'm sure i'll eventually get to both, but for the moment i can only get 1, and i'm sure they'll both be great. So far, i'm kinda leaning towards Bioshock, mainly due to universal critical acclaim, and because it's coming out sooner, which means more game time. But the temptation of MP3 is a great one as well, and i know it'll also be a great game. It is with this slight quandary that i ask any of you your personal opinion on which to get. If you could, an explantaion alongside of your preference would be appreciated.
