So my Xbox might as well be broken. The disk drive is literally eating my games. I've had Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition for a little over a week, and now my Xbox says it's unreadable, and the disk has huge scratches on the back of it. I've babied my games lately, so there was no way I, or anyone else, put the scratches on the disk. It's the Xbox that's destroying it.
So what does Microsoft do about this? My first Xbox had the Red Ring of Death, so they sent me a replacement. Now the replacement has a bad disk drive, and I guess my warranty ran out, so Bill Gates wants to take my $100 that I don't even have to fix it, while he's sitting on $55,000,000,000, soon to be 55,000,000,100. And of course, right after I buy my Xbox, they decide the warranty will be three years instead of one, and they only give the existing Xbox owners protection from the R-ROD. But, that's still cheaper than buying a brand new console, but not by much. A new Core console costs like $280, and a used is $180, so if I have to get more than one repair I'll be screwed. So really, why can't Bill Gates give a couple million to give lifetime warranties (or at least until the next Xbox is out)? There's no way you could ever spend $55 Billion, especially since Gates wears sweaters and sweatpants, not designer suits and such. I don't think he lives that lavishly either. As far as his Foundation for malaria, Warren Buffet gave him only $35 Billion. You'd think they'd be a lot farther than they are and that the workers would be volunteers.
I am personally angry about this. Xbox LIVE is the most user-friendly online gaming, the Xbox is the best console, so why can't they just give the ultimate experience?
