OK so I have had my trusty PS3 for just over 2 years now and never has it shown any symptoms of wanting to die but last Friday I went to turn it on and died, it had!

This is what happens (in case anyone out there who reads this blog know what the problem is and how to fix it without sending the damn thing off to Sont!):

1: Press the 'On' button. The PS3 beeps and the power LED changes from red to green.
2: A second later the green LED changes to a sort of orange / yellow colour and the PS3 beeps 3 times.
3: The LED then changes to a flashing red and the system stays like that until the power is killed.

So that is that as far as I can see. No warranty left on the PS3 so I guess it is either repair or replace!

I hope that I can swap the hard drive from the old one to the new one as there is a lot of stuff on there that I really do not want to loose.
