Game communities similar to GS have been around for a long time. I don't claim to have been around since the beginning of them, but even though I was probably like 10 years old when I started being active in the community, or most likely just lurking, I've read thousands of forum posts. Way back when I was starting to get into the gaming community was in '97 I think when I would visit Antagonist Inc., a channel on AOL. From there I migrated to Gamespot and haven't left ever since.
I am one who cherishes the old, such as games, sports, and even the forums. The way they used to be was amazing at times. There were fewer people on them, well atleast fewer immature illiterate posters, save KarlB, but even he had his respected place in the GS community, and so did others like RyanTehGod and such. I don't remember much about those days, but they were different than now, not necessarily better, just different.
Even today, occasionally old folks of the forums of yesteryear resurface, and their posts usually get buried in hundreds of garbage posts of 13 year olds trying to be funny, smart, or just something stupid or cocky.
This blog was pointless, I just wanted to start a blog and type some junk.
