Playing now:

BattleField: Bad Company

I've been racking up the gameplay hours with my brother playing Bad Company online. We're both Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 veterans so this game feels very familiar. I like the chaos of the larger scale battles presented by the Battlefield series. 8 vs 8 firefights across a street are not uncommon. And with grenades and rockets blowing holes in walls, it can get pretty intense.

Castle Crashers

I've been playing a lot of this with my girlfriend. It's easy to pick up and humor appeals to her. The online multiplayer suffers from disconnects which is annoying. Twice my friends and I got to a boss only to get disconnected. But local multiplayer is fast paced and satisfying.

Excited to play:

LittleBigPlanet

Who isn't excited about this game? Just release it already.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II

I'm a big fan of the Warhammer 40,000 universe and I've sunk many an hour into the first Dawn of War game and expansions.

Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising

Again, I'm a big fan of the original. Owned and played through all of the expansions. More impressive is that I bought them when I was in college which was a period of game pirating for me. But we'll save that for another post.

Spore

I don't know if I'm excited to play this, or to see what happens with it. There's a lot of hype surrounding the game. I'll probably wait a little while after it comes out to see what the word on the street is.

What are you guys playing and looking forward to?

i'm still in my downloadable games phase. finished w/ braid (but i need one more star), geometry wars, castle crashers, almost done w/ bc rearmed. i think i want to download The Last Guy, too.

for sept-oct, i'm looking forward to playing rock band 2, littlebigplanet, saints row 2, nba 2k9, and fracture. the force unleashed demo was somewhat entertaining, so i might give that a rent. spore is interesting, but i'm not even sure it's the kind of game i'd really enjoy (or if my pc can even run the game). the sims didn't really appeal to me.

i might finally return grid to GF this week (it's collecting dust) and pick up bad company.

I'm playing FFIV. It's okay so far! I spent the weekend leveling up my characters. They were at level 20 on Friday, and on Sunday they were at level 50. I just ordered Civ Revolution for the DS. I can't wait to play Viva Pinata Pocket Paradise and Final Fantasy XIII and Defendin DePenguin. (The last one was Peaco's idea.)
