Recently, I picked up Unreal Tournament 3 for the PC, and I've been playing it a bit lately and this is what I think. The graphics are great, they're probably the best you could hope for in such a game. The sound is alright, you end up with one of those computer voices though talking to you every few seconds in 'Capture The Flag' (Which you have to do in campaign mode.) about the flags being dropped or returned which is really annoying. The guns make alright sounds as well. But writing about the guns, that reminds me, there isn't really that great a choice. You've got a gravity hammer (Which is fairly useless in battle.), a pistol (Yeat again, fairly useless.), a bio-weapon (It's alright, but not that good.), a shock rifle (Which is alright if you know how to use it.), a mini-gun (Which is great.), a rocket launcher (Which is also great but it can make matches fairly 'spamy' with whoever has the best aim with a rocket launcher can pretty easily win.), a sniper rifle (Which is a great weapon and was made fantastically.) and some others that I can't remember (There's a sort of shotgun thing that fires bullets everywhere and can also make an explosion.). These weapons are alright but I would have liked to see a fair few more in this game, considering it's mainly about killing the opposing team. The AI is surprisingly good, but then again, that should be expected in this type of game. The maps are good butI would have liked to see at least one massive one for death-match and team deathmatch(Which there very well may be because I haven't played all the maps but out of the ones I've played so far, there hasn't been one.). Overall it's a pretty good game (Well, at least the bits that I've played so far.) but it's not so impressive that it immerses you in it (Like Assassin's Creed.). The best way to think of Unreal Tournament 3 is Gears Of War crossed with Star Wars Battlefront 2 (Minus the space battles.) exactly, and if you like the sound of that I recommend you try out or buy this game. But Unreal Tournament 3, even though it's a few years old now, just feels like it could have been worked on a bit more.I know that the matches are just meant to be fast paced, but maybe some kind of covert mode were you have to eliminate your enemies with sniper rifles would have been a good addition to this game and it probably would have attracted a wider audience too.
