You clock in, you press on you give away your time
Nothing like the sacrafice of breath
The struggle and the unaware plight forced without fight
Day to day, dust to dust, slave away as you must
The light at the end of the tunnel seems to stay fixed
It's an illusion, just another pipe dream of yours
In the back of your mind, behind your eyes, beyond the wight
You dream of things you've always dreamed about every night
You dream of the things that have made you smile, looking into the distance
Gazing away into the light and you body creeps ever slowly toward shutdown
You dream of these things that bring a sensation back to you
A feeling you have always wished to embrace, one you'd saved for another day
You dream of the possibilities, and how they are endless
But it's beginning to feel like endless impossibilities
... and everyone keeps their eyes fixed on the end of the tunnel
As if that's all they can concentrate on, never stopping to question or wonder
Eyes fixed on the end of the tunnel, is that all they see?
There's nothing left,
I'm going back,
Feeling in my chest,
My wings are broke,
This is the end,
There's no more hope,
Goodbye my friend,
It's not over.. yet,
Sad.
Would one dime, be worth that of a life?
When possessions and power, are the weapon; the knife,
Would you give everything you ever had, to receive all you haven't got?
When desires and greed, become the drug; your god,
Would all of your obsessions, out-weigh true love?
When corruption and ignorance, are a weight; a tug,
Would dying a respected man, seem better than a wise one?
When self-importance and glamor, impair your perspective; of known humanity...
When in despair, write poetry...
