Phillies win the NL east, and the only reason I'm under control over this is that it happened last year. They proceeded to get embarrassed by the Rockies, so hopefully this year will be different. Also, we at Alabama picked up a huge win in Georgia tonight, so hopefully we'll be number 3 by the next AP polls.

Look, I know playoff time is fast approaching and you want to save your players for meaningful games for the Cubs. But that doesn't mean these games don't matter to other teams. There's a time to give people a rest, and a time to play maybe even one of : Alfonso Soriano, Derek Lee, Geovanny Soto or Aramis Ramirez. No way were Carlos Marmol or Kerry Wood coming into that game. I realize you want to give your stars some time off, but it is ridiculous to ask for a tiny bit of courtesy?

I truly, and deeply hate this airline with a burning passion. I was all set to leave from JFK a few weeks ago when a huge baggage back up canceled flights. I waited in ine for two hours to talk to the woman at the desk, who said it was due to weather issues, and since it isn't mechanical, I would get no compensation, not even the $15 bucks to park for the day. Instead, I was to show up the next morning at 4AM, at LaGuardia. This whole situation was absolutely ridiculous. So I showed up the next morning, down the day of my trip that was to be spent in Vegas (and a $150 hotel wasted) to find that I was placed in the last row of the plane, an insanely loud seat that had no view from the window due to it being covered by the engine.

When I arrived in Las Vegas, and had to rush to my next destination, I found that the competent citizens of LaGuardia had me on a return flight to JFK, which would obviously not work due to my car being parking in the LaGuardia long term parking (which came out to be $300). So, 45 minutes on the phone eventually got me on correct flight, but it cost me a little of my sanity.

The way back proved to be just as annoying, because I was placed in the exact same seat. 4 hours of noise and irritation finally put me over the edge, and I had a nice and friendly chat with one of the clowns who goes around trying to sell old sandwiches mid flight. They don't even give those little bags of peanuts anymore. So suffice to say, I will be composing a letter for American Airlines that is certainly inappropriate for this site due to the TOS. In a couple days I'll write more about my trip, and come up with some pics of the Grand Canyon, but right now, I'm too annoyed.
