WARNING: This is a RANT thats been bubbling up since the whole MW2 Scham started going overboard.
First of all, lets get a few things out of the way: I own a PS3, I've played both MW2 and NSMBWii, I am NOT a Nintendo fanboy, I'm 27 and have been playing video games since before most people on this site were even born.
Activision set out to prove one thing when it became the biggest company of this generation and that is that gamers have become nothing but mindless consumers who will buy anything if you hype it enough even if you just repackage it 6 times (COD) or even 15 times (GH)
Whats worse is that video game journalism although not entirely at fault has succummed too early to the temptation of big companies and is proving to be very unreliable when it comes to overly hyped games.
Why would anyone give NSMBWii less than a 9? Online Multiplayer is missing? Boo-F'ing-Hoo. Can't record videos of your own achievements? You're F'ing Kidding me! I've seen 3 reviews of this game so far and the only complaint that isn't picking with a microscope is how hectic multiplayer can get and the fact that they could've either used some original characters rather than the Toad characters or maybe just put in Wario and Waluigi.
They only bothered to breifly mention the 80+ levels plus the insane replay value when you want to play competative multiplayer! Now thats price for value! Of course no one mentioned the one thing that seems to not matter in games anymore: The game is F'ing FUN! and I only played it for a couple of hours at my cousines house!
NOOO everyone wants to spend their money on the 60$ expansion pack called CoD Modern Warfare 2 which got a 9 - 9.5 although it completely "played it safe" (IGN's complain of NSMBWii) Had a 5 hour campaign and a Story that was campy at best, and was too easy even on Vetern mode, and has one of the most chaotic Multiplayer (Gametrailers complain of NSMBWii)
Some will argue that the Online Multiplayer is addictive and amazing and worth spending 60$ on a map pack. Sorry my friends thats what DLC should be for and that is why I have huge respect for Rockstar because when Lost and Damned came out because it was a 5-7 hour campaign it was only and EXPANSION DLC.
I have to be honest the only Multiplayer I enjoy are Co-Op, RTS, Fighting and sports games coop because they have a bit of depth as well as require skills with comparison to stand face to face with someone and keep shooting each other till one of you dies and have your squad move in utter chaos Multiplayer that the majority of games have.
But hey what do I know about good games huh? I must be a "casual" gamer! Well, I'm willing to bet that all the "Hardcore" gamers wouldn't be able to pass the 2nd world in NSMB!
Some might argue that Nintendo has been doing the repackaging trick since they started but they've always managed to deliver a new experience to even the most vetern of players and that is unarguable.
Whether thats how CoD fans feel with MW2 or not is not the point here, the point is journalists and critics are not being fair in their critique and they are either being fed what to see or have unintentionally become parrots to companies' PR.

First of all and before anything I'd like to apologize to the guys in the Playstation Universe Union and especially naju. I know I stopped the contest without warning but believe me I've been feling guilty about it!
To clear things up my life has been a huge mess for the past three weeks, work load has been crazy and I had my salary cut in half due to the financial crisis, the rent on our family apartment the apartment I grew up in became twice what we used to pay and we have to find a new place in 6 months or pay the new ridiculus rent! To top it off my home laptop died on me and I can't even afford to fix it!
All I have been doing lately is going to work, coming home and my only passtime, playing video games! It seems like the only thing helping me vent out and keep my sanity! Thankfully I have my beautiful fiance cheering me up or I would probably full into deep depression!
While I will find a few minutes everyday during working hours to post in some threads just to feel alive I barely have time to do anything else or organize the contest. Of course this does not mean the contest has been ended abruptly and no one won, I am a man of my word and if I can't continue the contest within a month or pass on the contest duties to another officer I will just announce the winner the person who is on top of the list at the moment and give him the prize.
Again I apologize to all the amazing people here for not being so active lately.
I've been wanting to write a new blog for a while but I've been too busy (still am) until I read this amazing piece of news that 1up.com is hogging for itself for the next week or so. One of my favorite Genesis games of all time is getting the HD treatment!
After I thought that Konami has long forgotten about their one time attempt at a mascot the news breaks that Sparkster is getting a new adventure with a 2.5D game planned for release on PSN, XBLA and Steam!
If you've never played the game before it is an action/platformer where you play as Sparkster an opossum knight with a jetpack. The game was action packed and very fast paced and in fact could've become a huge franchise had Konami not forgotten about it.
The retro invasion continues and I cannot be happier about it!
COME ON SEGA! WE WANT RISTAR!
