Every morning I turn to Headline News when getting ready for work to get the latest news. It goes through all the major items quickly, so you know what's going on in a nutshell. Well, for the past week they have been playing nothing but the freaking Anna Nicole Smith trial. I mean, is there really nothing more important that they dedicate whole hours to this trial? The regular CNN channel has real news content, so what gives? I have to either switch to Fox news (shudder) or Saved by the Bell. Oh who am I kidding, I usually end up watching the latter anyway! /rant
But it got me thinking, why are people interested in that trial anyway? We as a society look down upon sex in games,movies, etc...and here we are glorifying a stripper. What's more impressionable to kids: the Hot Coffee mod that 99.9% of people never saw, or the news media making Anna Nicole Smith seem like an important person?

I agree with you 100%. I don't seem to get it either. I mean out of all the news in the world that is the most important?? Remember these are same people who say that games are destroying our children and some other BS. Ok fine i can't have naked people in my game but it is ok to have a women was stripper all her life be glorified like she did some good for the planet.

it's became a farce with lame shows like Nancy Grace and Beck. all those shows should be dumped. i really miss the old Headline News when it was a true 24 hour news channel. what a tragedy...

That is terrible. All this Anna Nicole news, and no updates on Britney Spears in rehab and the custody battle with K-Fed. WHERE'S THE PRIORITIES?!?!

You're just noticing this now? CNN Headline News dropped real news in favor of entertainment features and tabloid trash in the summer of 2001.
And CNN's international channel dropped news in favor of business traveler features in 2002. It's like they want us to switch to BBC World.

exactly....if most of us were like her,in a drug induce stooper all the time....we would make the news in a different kind of way....cuffs and cages....lol.....why they praise her is beyond me....she should be the advertisment of what not to be when you grow up...lol
