Despite a massive change from the graphic novel i thoroughly enjoyed this film as did the two friends i watched this with, and personaly cant wait till i get the dvd to watch the tales of the blackfrieghter interspersed into it.

Back to the film anyway, i think this is as close to perfect as you could an adaptation and rorschach my fave guy from the novel was perfect, even keeping in all his one liners it was a very enjoyable viewing experience, even night owls problem, which could be put down to premature by people who've not read watchmen. Those who have read will know what i mean, everyone else played their well, and yes silk spectre II had an amazing butt lol. Jeffery dean was brilliant as the comedian aswell.

It's long yes and i suspect most people will go in to watch it expecting it to be x-menesque in action, you wont be dissapointed by the action in this for sure but its a very story driven film, and its a long un 3hrs, the full dvd version will be bordering on 4hrs if i'm correct, the only thing i had to gripe about well 2 things is they all seemed to be quite stronger than normal humans, in the novel their not they are physically peaked but not to the level they are in this film, and them including ozymandias's pet cat which they could have left out really i'm sure it just served to confuse people who dont know how he got it.

some awesome trailers on this film aswell such as wolverine, star trek and transformers 2 these are the next films i'm looking forward to seeing

laters folks!

I saw Watchmen (and read the graphic novel) and I too believed they did a great job with the adaption. However, what did you think of the movie ending? I thought it was rubbish compared to the book ending. But that aside, I loved Rorsharch too, and Dr Manhattan was brilliant of course. The boyfriend and I saw it twice over the weekend, and I know we're going to see it more before its finished at the cinemas. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it too

them saying the final line instead of manhattan? yeah it was a bit of a cop out, but if you mean the alien invason thing i dont that would have worked so well.
Was fun though three of us went in with different views to the film me who hasnt read the novel for about 5 years (going to buy it now though) and didnt read up on the changes they were doing, my other friend whose recently read the novel and knew about the changes and my other friend whose never heard of it before, it finishing and us disscussing was fun.
I might try to get another watching of it in at some point, have fun watching it again yourself rach

I do mean the fact that Ozymandias blamed Dr Manhattan for destroying all the cities. I would have loved to see the squid, but c'mon, Dr Manhattan is too awesome to blame the deaths of missions of people on. I knew they were making changes, but didn't know the extent of the changes. Ah well, it is probably the best comic-to-movie adaption yet.
