Man, I'm beginning to lose track here. But anyone who has read my previous blog posts in regards to the hardware issues with the 360 will know that I will not be getting another one at this point.

I'm not even going to rant & rave, I've done that before & I'm pretty much completely over it at this point. My PS3, Wii & HP Blackbird PC pretty much guarantee that my gaming needs will be more than satisfied without having to worry about subpar hardware & horrible customer service with the 360. Good riddance to bad rubbish...

Don't know what to say man, you know how I feel about MS. This is a dangerous trend in gaming, one that doesn't seem to be slowing down. We have a humongous corporation with virtually limitless resources who still, after over two years on the market, cannot/will not fix their hardware issues.

It's a dangerous trend, one that too many gamers excuse because they like the games on it, and it's sad, honestly. I understand many people have had no issues, and to them I say: consider yourself lucky.

The 360 does have some good games on it, but no game, no game is worth what MS is pulling on consumers. While it's not unheard of for a system to have problems, it's unacceptable that two years after the fact it's still a very large scale problem, one that MS doesn't seem to be in a hurry to fix.

I still have my 360 (#6) and it's working pretty well, save for a scratched to hell FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage disk from a few months ago, but maybe part of the reason it works is because I hardly ever play it. The hardware issues have grown too tiresome for me to deal with anymore.

That, and the fact that I don't like most of the games on the 360 as I'm more of a single player story driven gamer, and thankfully the PS3 has come through big time for gamers like me who enjoy those types of games.

Sorry about yet another 360 dying on you. I completely understand your frustrations and I'm completely behind you on saying F'off to MS. They do not deserve your money, and you, as a paying customer, do not deserve to be treated so poorly. Move on, forget the 360 and get back to enjoying gaming again, rather then saying a prayer every time you turn your 360 on.

This statement may come off fanboyish to some, but it's not. It's just the words of a fed-up consumer who's tired of being screwed time and time again.

We, as paying customers should not have to deal with this, and I, for one, refuse to be taken for a fool. Maybe a few select gamers can't do anything about MS's poor business practices, but we can tell them to F'off and save our good money for good products.

Good luck and sorry for leaving such a long comment on your blog.

Thanks for your comments everyone! No worries about the long reply nyc05, I always appreciate your feedback & we seem to be of the same mind when it comes to the 360. Sorry LosDaddie, but I gave my busted 360 to a buddy of mine, he's going to mod it. Personally, I dislike pirating in any form so I would never choose to do that, but he can do whatever he likes with the system.

The sad thing is, this one didn't even die from the red rings like pretty much every other one has, it just started making Chewbacca noises & basically gouged 3 of my game discs so bad that they became unplayable.

But like I said, the PS3, Wii & my new HP Blackbird desktop are more than enough to satisfy my gaming needs & at least I know they're going to work when I turn them on. I'm actually so over the 360 at this point that I'm not even pissed. It's just one of those things that was beyond my control & I'll be just fine without it.
Here's hoping you all have better luck than I did!

I'm sorry to hear that.
That is part of the reason why I resist to buy a 360, I'd be heated if it broke even once!

I can understand your frustration with the Xbox 360. I have had 2 break on me and am on my third one now. At this point I have all but given up on Xbox Live and only use the 360 to play exclusive single player games like Mass Effect and Bioshock. I also intend to use it for The Orange Box. I have been gaming for over 15 years now and the only consoles to have ever broken down on me are Microsoft consoles. This is not a coincidence. Microsoft is a software company; in many regards they make good software (even though I HATE Windows and shifted over to Apple many years ago). They did an excellent job bringing online gaming into the console world (albeit, charging for something that should be free anyways). The hardware is pitiful though...How people can accept and so vehemently support hardware with a 25+% failure rate is completely beyond me...Am I the one taking crazy pills? For $400+ I would expect something that works...AND NO...having a 3 year warranty does not alleviate my fears. The problem with the 360 is that I EXPECT it to break. Sooner than later. I have no such worries with my PS3. It seems that too many people forget to put a price on peace of mind...

^You are totally right when you talk about putting a price on "piece of mind" knicknutt. I've been gaming for a looong time, (since the beginning really), so I know these consoles can break down, but what's happening with the 360 is far beyond acceptable & I appreciate the fact that others feel the way I do about wondering whether my 360 was even going to work when I turned it on. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

@ ColoradoKindBud - I'm with you with the Chewie noises. I'm on my 3rd 360. My Wii broke too. Been a bad gen for relying on systems. Pretty pathetic for MS. Plus think of all the problems that are going to come with Natal. I'm not even going to bother with that. (feel sorry for you though)
