The plan takes place in that big black circle. As you see the two diagnal skinny lines that cross each other is the wind blowing viokently southeast as said by the translation on the Library's dial. This makes the attack from the Aanggaang, WT, and EK move slower since the boats they use run on sails. (The two black lines that touch each end of the cresent island is where the Winter Soltice takes place and it took approximately 17 hours to get from Selin to the cresent island)

The maroon pattern that runs around the Fire Nation islands are the blockade. And the normal red line is Zhao's fleet.

So let's just say they left before the eclipse or on the first hour of it. As last time it should take them 13-17 hours depending if the win was always there or appears somewhere throughout the day. As they begin reaching the blockade you notice that Zhao's fleet is going up there trail thus they will have to steer either into the blockade and die, go east into Zhao's fleet and die. or cut off many hours going around them.

By the time they even reach the fourth island east of the mainland it would end there "window of oppertunity" they have accomplished getting on a Fire Nation island but they are stuck on one filled with firebenders with their powers back and ready to cut down the raiding party.
