So for the past month I've been trying to upload the new videos I made onto this site. For some reason it gets to 99-100% done, but then the page just goes blank and when I come back on the site the video doesn't show up. Grrrr. Annoying. Anyone else having this problem or is it just me?
If you want my latest video here it is. I made it for the Dollar for Sense campaign.I have to start off with a little story. Before I was born, my parents got a VCR. Growing up, this VCR sustained a lot of punishment from my younger siblings (what, M&M don't belong in the VCR? Weird!) but always worked. When I was about twelve, the VCR crapped out, so we got a new one. Last summer that VCR finally crapped out (we only had it for 10 years!) meaning all we were left with for home entertainment was the DVD player.
Ah, the DVD player. Such a good theory. Sure it is far superior to the VCR (without a doubt) but they are made so cheaply now that I am literally buying a new one every six months. Right now, under the TV, there are FIVE non-working DVD players. The oldest one is three years old, the newest, four months old. I buy a DVD player, it works for a few months, then the disk stops spinning or the power won't turn on, or on and on and on. How hard is it to make a product that will last more then one season? I'd pay extra for a more high end one in hopes that it would last longer, but I know they are made in China too.
This quest to have everything be cheap cheap cheap has done just that. Everything is cheap falling apart crap. Nothing last more then a few months. The few times I bought cheap clothes, they fell apart in the wash. Now I have to save up to buy better quality clothes, but I know they will last much longer (saving me money in the long run because then I don't have to buy as many clothes- I am a woman, I swear!
).
Scum. Bottom-feeding, soul-sucking scum. That is what these idiots who have spoiled Harry Potter are. Their quest to be the first on the net with the information, to profit off of it, makes me sick. Those newspapers who printed the spoilers, or in a few cases put the book review-that reveal certain details of the book-on the front page where any unspoiled person can see them, including children, are also scum.
I have loved Harry Potter since I was in high school. Way back in 1998 I picked up the first book at a book fair. I had never heard of it, but it looked interesting. And I loved it. I made my mom read it then my younger siblings read it. Over night we turned into a Harry Potter loving house.
Nine years I've been waiting for Saturday. In that time I've had endless discussions, hopes, worries about how it's all going to end. With each new book, talking about it only got more interesting.
And people are trying to spoil that for me. That pisses me off to no end. Monday my little brother happened to be in a chat room and someone's avatar gave away the ending. So now he knows what's going to happen. I've told him if he tells me, I'll kill him, and that no one would convict me. Now I'm afraid to go on the Internet because people can't keep their big mouths shut. That is not fair.
I am still unspoiled (not with some effort now) but I feel worse for the kids. Little kids who can't wait to see Harry's next adventure. And it seems like everyone (newpapers/television/Internet) is trying to spoil it for them, to take away the fun. All for the sake of being the first one with the information. God people (aka spoiler-leaking-a**wipes) make me sick. Is nothing sacred?
Grr. *Goes off and finishes reading book six in anticipation*
