Since my last blog. It's not that I've been too busy to write any, there's just not been a lot going on that's interesting. I started school back on August 19, this quarter is halfway over at the end of the week. School's been the same old same old. I've found myself enjoying band much more this year, I've even liked marching a lot My favorite class is Wood Shop. I'm making a glass door book shelf. It will be pretty cool when it's done, I'm almost ready to start puting it together, I need to do some more cutting and sanding then I'll start putting it together, that will probably happen sometime next week. I'll also be making a wooden lamp or two, and maybe something else too, idk.

Band's been much more fun this year, but I'm not really looking forward to basketball. It doesn't interest me like it did a couple of years ago. I'm just burnt out on it and our coach that was new last year insists on doing waaayyy to much extra stuff (summer weights, open gyms on saturdays throughout the school, 2 and a half hour practices). I just don't enjoy it that much to want to use up that much of my time. I've only got 3 more seasons left, so I might as well play.

Math class sucks. It really does. Math itself is easy, but it's so boring and I don't care for my teacher. I've got Geometry this year, and I don't understand why so many people struggle with it. Everything's just clicked for me, I guess.

I got a car It's a 1988 Ford Mustang LS. It's the LS, but it has a GT motor, a 5.0 HO 302 (HO stands for High Output). I really haven't drove it that much, I've mainly been driving my moms old car, I don't care to leave my mustang sitting in the school parking lot. I'll drive it a lot more when I get the seatsReupholstered (I think that's how you spell it, the spellchecker isn't catching it, and my spelling isn't the greatest). I have some ugly seat covers that the previous owner had on it, the bottom of the seats are all cracked up.

From what I've drove of it, it's FAST. It's an incredibly light-weight car with a hopped up motor in it. I want to bring it to the fun drags some day, see what it will run. I'm gonna replace the whole stereo system too. The speakers are blown and the receiver is broke. The exterior is in perfect condition though, no rust anywhere, and the paint isn't faded at all. It's been babied all it's life. I need to take some pictures of it.

I got Uncharted: DR, and already beat it. A pretty solid game, if you own a PS3 it's a must-have. I beat Star Wars the Force Unleashed, it was alright. If you find it for $15 or less, go ahead and pick it up. If not, just rent it.

POLITICAL STUFF, SKIP IF YOU AREN'T INTERESTED

I'm not a big supporter of Obama, and I'm tired of people trying to pull the race card whenever anyone speaks out against him, I'm not racist, I just don't agree with a lot of democratic views (No, I'm not a republican, I'm independent, I like whoever I think would be the best in office, although I can't vote) and it seems Obama is throwing away money. I also don't support government healthcare, for a variety of reasons.

I don't like the senators outburst at the speech, but at the same time, I can sympathise with him. I don't feel that Obama has done a good job of listening to the people, and obviously, the senator was fed up with it (I honestly can't remember his name) but that still doesn't mean you should interrupt his speech.

Honestly, the recession is over, so I think everything should go back to normal, other than a few topics that are on debate which I would rather not argue over, but need attending to (these were topics that were big before the recession).

People need to stop using their credit cards and getting loans they can't pay. That's what got us in the recession in the first place, people bought things they couldn't afford, and then businesses were out quite a bit of money. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES, it's hard sometime, they are often more expensive and don't offer the selection you find online, but it's better for the economy and keeps unemployment down. I'm guilty of not supporting local businesses as much as I should, but I don't buy much that places around here carry.

I think political parties should be abolished. And those running for president should be limited to how much they can campaign, which means no TV ads. Why do I think this? Because the way things are currently, the averageperson has no chance of ever becoming president, it costs way to much. So we're always stuck with rich people who have no idea what the average persons life is like. The amount of time they are alowwed to campaign should also be resticted to 8 months.

Political parties were a bad idea. The founding fathers had hoped that they wouldn't develop. They saw what happened with Political parties in other countries and didn't want it in the US.

END OF POLITICAL RANT

I'm now the officer in two unions, you guys should check them out. They are

The Last Kingdom. It's basically a game/movie/novels/anime union. It's also big on Square Enix games, and other RPGs. You guys should check it out, we could use some more members.

The Folklore and Fantasy Union. This one's pretty much self explannitoryGo ahead and joinif you love fantasy in any form.

And what's your guys' opinion on the avatar? I've generally heard compliments, although there were a couple that didn't like it so much.

Finally, I'll leave you with a song (especially for you, Supa_Badman You don't mind if I just shorten it to Supa, do you?)

My Dying Bride - A Cruel Taste of Winter

*skips political stuff due to complete obliviousness to anything related to politics and government*

Highschool just gets funner and funner as you go. But damn, you're a quarter done this school year already?! I'm incredibly jealous. I just started

Grats on the car, but I still need my license! Thanks for reminding me, jerk

Yeah! support The Folklore and Fantasy Union!
Your car sounds great, I don't have one myself, I don't see the point of owning a car in London
I'm glad your listening to My Dying Bride now they are one of my favourite bands.
Posted Sep 18, 2009 2:16 am PT
That sounds like a nice car (but I know nothing of them). Maybe you can show us some pictures? It's nice that you're having a good time in school. I wouldn't last playing any sport.

I'll be sure to check out The Last Kingdom union.

Posted Sep 18, 2009 8:59 am PT
Pfft, woodshop? photography is the way to go

and Obama has started to do good, after the healthcare, but he dropped it because it seems everyone there hates the word 'Socialist' or at least, they think they do.
And although buying locally is the best thing to do, us canadians and mexicans are screwed if you americans decide to go completely through with that.
And thanks for the song, it's alright, but you should keep trying lol yeah Supa's ok with me
Posted Sep 18, 2009 12:14 pm PT

OH yeah, I love the avatar too lol. It's just funny, because it's a dude that is screaming. Nuff said.
Posted Sep 18, 2009 5:39 pm PT
@DarkFadi
thanks man

@hazelnutman
it's not fun, just I haven't had anything that I felt was complete and total torture yet (except math) I'm actually 1/8 through the year, I'm halfway through the quarter. I got to get my mid-terms in my classes. My shool starts halfway through August and ends in May.

@-Absinthe-
Where I live you have to drive to go anywhere So I really needed a car, my school is 5 miles away and I do sports, so I needed one.

@SlashDementia3
I need to put some pics up, but I don't have any atm. I will before too long. I know quite a bit about cars because my dad's a mechanic and car collector. I've been around cars my whole life. Shool hasn't been fun, but it's been bearable. I'm glad you're checking out the union

@hassanfadil
Thanks I don' t like the seat covers because they are ugly and bunch up underneath my butt Getting the seats redone won't be too big of a deal.
Posted Sep 18, 2009 5:47 pm PT
@vj02
it's a lot more interesting than it sounds. It's gonna be fancy looking, and have 4 pane glass doors and everything. I'm making a wooden lamp or two, also. Thanks on the car @supa_badman
My school doesn't have photography, but it's not something that really interests me much either Buying locally I basically meant staying away from online companies so much, and staying away from all the asian made things, but that's really hard to do Nothing against asians, but it seems like we support them more than our own country. Obama still hasn't impressed me, he may be able to later on. The song's one of my favorites atm, I would pick something death or black metal, but I have a feeling you wouldn't be able to stand the vocal stile

@NuKkU
thanks

@McMJ3
ya, it is pretty fun to drive My school always starts around August 20, we usually get out around May 20.

Congrats on your car. Math sucks

Good to hear that you are enjoying band and some classes. When I was your age, I loved Technology (Wood Shop) in school. I was so handy with making things and stuff like that. To this day, I can take things a part and can put them back together as if they were brand new. I credit Technology for that. When you're done with your bookshelf, hit us up with a photo to show off your skills.

As for the Obama racism thing, I'll tell you this...Not all of it is blatant. Not all of it is racism. But there is some underlying things that can sure as hell insinuate things. That Wilson person should not have done what he did. I don't care who you are, when the president is speaking, shut up, fall asleep, text to people or play a game, but don't you dare yell out during his speak.
That's right, don't do it. It's not a meeting, it's his podium to address the citizens of America.

Now with that being said, Obama has spent too much money, has not lived up to whatever promises he made. The good thing is though, that he didn't cause this and the people who he lent the money to, have basically paid most of it back. That's the good stuff. All I do is hope and pray that he makes the right decisions for the people and to cut a better promo/speech, because after 2 minutes I'm done.

The Folklore and Fantasy Union sure does rock!

Eh i really do not agree with your political views at all =\. Stopping the political parties is a bad idea and the founding fathers never hoped they wouldn't formed o.o The government was set up so eventually a 2 party system would take control due to the need of a majority in presidential voting and voting in general. It could not be multiparty like other governments (germany) due to the need for this majority vote. Also...the statement about being independant reminds me of a fun fact =3 xD 80% of americans are actually independants in the middle ground while politicians try to fight for that middle ground support. With supporting local business, the worst problem is our education system. America has a horrible education system compared to the rest of the world such as the UK (or brazil which really has probably the best in the world) due to where the money goes: to the schools. In other countries money is tied to the students so every single child is not educated all the way to highschool like it is in america. Sheesh even in my school which is considered one of the best in my state, the graduation rate is only 75% so those 25% of students were just wasted money. Alot of unemployment is caused due to both natural unemployment rates and the problem with structural unemployment since the education just needs to be better and have higher level jobs than several people currently can try to get due to their education levels...blah so yea...education needs to be better...xD

Whoa...sorry for how long that was xD didn't realize how much i typed since i was watching TV at the same time ^.^ also wood shop sounds awesome =( i never got to try it due to this program i am in at school

@Flame_Blade88
thanks

@telvisnostic
I'll make sure to get some photos of it. I've actually done some woodworking since I was 8 or so, my dad has a lot of shop equipment and I've helped him with a lot of projects. I never said it was right to interupt his speach at all, he shouldn't have. I dislike being called a racist, especially when people are just using that as leverage against people. That is a dirty tactic.

@CosmoKing7717
I remember reading that about the founding fathers somewhere. Political parties create biases, and also allow memebers to be able to out-campaign independents because of the political parties amount of money. It just does no good for the independent, working class man to have any hope of becoming president, and I dislike having rich people in office because of their lack of knowledge of the middle class.

yes the education system in America is lower than most, and it needs change. The No Child Left Behind Act is a step backward, it is not attainable and will cause many problems. My shool actually has a graduation rate in the high 90s though.

The length wasn't a big deal. I appreciate your feedback. And yes, wood shop is a lot of fun.
Posted Sep 18, 2009 8:30 pm PT
Since 8 years old doing wood work? That is just too cool man.
BTW, I don't think you are a racist. So if I implied that in any way, I apologize.

There are many dirty tactics people use in every aspect of life. Calling someone something that they are not is one of them. This will be a bit off topic, but this is my example. When someone calls someone a whore or a slut because they dated, but never ever slept with any of those people is a dirty tactic and a bit slanderous. So this person will have to defend themselves for years to clear their name.

Now back on topic. Mr. Wilson has apologized, which I think was poppycock and he didn't mean it one bit, but he did it. Now all that needs to happen is for this government to get back on their horses and do their jobs to help the citizens of thsi great country. The debate will continue as to why he did what he did, but he will never really reveal it. I bet it was a dare. I really do.
Posted Sep 18, 2009 9:11 pm PT
@telvisnostic
No, you didn't imply that at all, I was just saying that me getting called racist by people for not supporting Obama irritates me.

I've been around cars and machinery all my life. My dad's a mechanic and has a garage in our back yard that is filled with all sorts of power tools and saws. Him and my grandpa also have quite a car collection.

I don't think it was a dare, he looked way to upset for it to have been a dare. He looked like he was ****ed off. Next time he should hold his tongue until he's done, or the cameras are put away.
Posted Sep 18, 2009 9:34 pm PT
I am not a supporter of Obama and when I say that, I'm actually turning my back on my race, yes he is half black. Weird huh? I guess it just goes both ways. All we can now hope for is that this will all blow over and that they get back to doing their jobs.

My mom was like that growing up with my grandpa. She knows almost every part of the car engine. All this learning stuff can come in handy.

Considering how childish those Senators and Representatives can be, I wouldn't rule out a dare.
Posted Sep 18, 2009 9:39 pm PT
Great! I want to see some pictures then
Posted Sep 19, 2009 2:42 am PT
Congrats on your car, oh good ol' wood shop, i had alot of fun in that class. Didn't get to make alot of cool stuff though.
Posted Sep 19, 2009 7:56 am PT
@telvisnostic
I've just recently started learning all of the car parts. I can now take an engine apart and put it back together if I wanted to. I've been working at my dad's service station for a couple of years now, prior to that all I did was go down and help when he really needed a couple extra hands.

Another thing I've done since I was young was ride motorcycles. I've rode motorcycles since I was six, and had my own when I was 7.

If it were a dare, he should get in trouble for that.

@vj02
when it gets done, I'll make sure to post some pics

@Sk8ter_213
thanks man, wood shop is a great class. It's one of the few classes that teach you something practical in high school, that you can use for the rest of your life, and even make a living off of.
Posted Sep 19, 2009 8:49 am PT
Shop classes are always fun. I didn't take a year of wood and 4 years of metal shop in high school because they sucked. Besides, having crafting skills can allow you to build some cool stuff as I've already demonstrated before. With your book shelf, are you cutting glass yourself for it? Glass cutting can be a pain if you're not careful.
Posted Sep 19, 2009 11:20 pm PT
@jt4mtb
Yep, shop is very fun

I don't think I'll be cutting my glass. I might, but I doubt it. I'll just have to see how it goes.

being able to drive is great. How old are you?
Posted Oct 9, 2009 8:19 pm PT
"being able to drive is great. How old are you?"
I'm going to be 15 in a month. I know you can take a driver's ed class in some states when you're 15, but IDK about New York.

@Shadowflame291
having a permit isn't really anything special tbh. I was supposed to drive 30 hours with my permit before I got my license, I might have drived 10 hours I live in Missouri btw.

OH yeah, I don't support political parties either. IMO, the Dems and Reps are equally corrupt, and if I do register It's independent ONLY.
Posted Oct 26, 2009 11:06 pm PT
@Shadowflame291
the problem with independent candidates is that they are often rich people who have no idea of what goes on in the average person's life. If you were to abolish political parties and set limits on how you can campaign, anyone would be able to run, and the US would be much better governed. We also need to lose the Voting delegates or whatever they're called (I can't remember what they're called atm, but I know exactly what they do). All elections should be directly through the people with no middle man or representative. With how it is now, your vote for president doesn't count for ****.
