Like a lot of people, I loved the Tony Hawk series, but felt that it was getting a little played out around the THUG/THUG2 era. Wasteland was a total waste.
I've started playing skate, and it's pretty fun. If anyone else has it and is up for a bit of online, just let me know! I'm still getting used to the sticks being the main drivers of the game, rather than the buttons, but I think I will prefer this eventually. I just wish there was a way to push without using your right hand.
In the gaming update realm (I'll only repost the whole list once in a while):
Finished:
Miami Nights: Singles in the City (DS) - A cheesy Sims ripoff, but fun while it lasted.
Cate West: The Vanishing Files (DS) - A really good time. It's mainly variations on "find these objects hidden in this picture", with a bit of "find the differences between these 2 photos" thrown in for good measure. Overall, enjoyable.
PS May have a big announcement soon - like in the next couple of days. And no, I'm not pregnant. ![]()
Played quite a bit this weekend, so time for an update. I'm going to keep the ones I've completed on the bottom, just so I feel accomplished at the end of the summer.
Also, in case you wonder why the size of the list may change, there are many other games in my collection that I have yet to play, so if I pick one of those to play, I'll add them to the list (like Stranglehold).
Finished:
- Lego Batman (360) - Really, really a lot of fun. I like how they're evolving the Lego series. I wasn't a convert at first, but Lego Indiana Jones made me change my tune. I still need to collect achievements via free play, but I'll leave that for a rainy day. There are a lot of other stories I'd rather play through first.
- Unsolved Crimes (DS) - This is a good game, though it walks you through things a bit too much. Some of the later cases are quite gruesome, but I really enjoyed playing it.
Played enough of:
- Stranglehold (360) - This is as much fun as I thought it would be. The Tequila time (aka bullet time) set up is a lot of fun. I'm just not feeling the "shoot everything that moves" genre right now.
I also traded in a bunch of collection dead weight. I used to loathe trading in games, but there were several I bought cheaply to try out that I am no longer interested in. Good news is that their trade-in values were close to what I paid for them from a super sale a while ago.
To Play (new games added to the bottom of the list):
- Castlevania: SoTN
- Final Fantasy IX
- Dragon Quest VIII
- God Of War II
- Herdy Gerdy
- Ikaruga
- Donkey Konga, Donkey Konga 2
- Geist
- MediEvil
- Auto Modellista
- Legend of Zelda: TP
- Tales of Symphonia
- Conker: Live and Reloaded
- Mirror's Edge
- The Orange Box
- Civ Revolution
- 40 Winks - sounds cheesy enough for me
- Blazing Dragons - um Terry Gilliam? SOLD!
- Countdown Vampires, Dracula: The Last Sanctuary - Vampire "fun"?
- My Disney Kitchen - complete with verbal assault by Minnie for bad cooking
- No One Can Stop Mr. Domino - I love a challenge!
- Brave: The Legend of Spirit Dancer
- City Crisis
- Pirates: Legend of the Black Buccaneer - bought this because I thought it was Sid Meier's Pirates

- Whiplash
- Norse by Norsewest - sequel to awesome PC game from "back in the day"
- Bode Miller's Alpine Skiing
- Easter Bunny's Big Day
- The Red Star
- Van Helsing
- Yakuza 2

- The Warriors (PSP) - 6/10
- Assassin's Creed (X360) - 6/10
- Stranglehold (X360) - 6/14
Got some new games via Goozex and the "game fairy", so added these to the pile to play: Unsolved Crimes (DS), Miami Nights in the City (DS), Lego Star Wars: TCS (X360), Lego Batman (X360)
Finished:
- Me and My Katamari (PSP) - Excellent game, but the lack of 2 analog sticks makes play control harder than its PS2 cousins
- God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP) - Great game that makes me want to finally finish God of War 2 (PS2)
Played enough of:
- The Warriors (PSP) - too much like its console counterpart, which I finished a while ago. Got bored of it quickly.
- Assassin's Creed (X360) - What exactly is going on in this game? I mean, its storyline is so weird and its actions disjointed... Maybe I'll get back into it, but for now I'm done.
