BLADE- 1998
Blade will go down as one of the greatest comic series to come to film ever, and really it pioneered the whole genre of films. Before Blade, there were no real big budget comic films apart from the mediocre Batman and Superman films. In the years following dozens of comic heroes have made their way to the silver screen to become Blockbusters. If Blade had been such an achievement in Comic storytelling there might be a very different world of movies today.
For a movie to be truly great it has to succeed in storytelling, anyone can jam pack 2 hours with CGI action and nonstop combat, but dialogue and the effectiveness of which the story is told make a movie. Blade brings a hero, more of a gray area vigilante with a completely original story. It isn't another Alien with amazing powers saves humans and fights evil. Instead, evil fights evil, but generally dislikes humans. Snipes greatest acting is in these films, and they succeed in creating a deep universe for the viewer.

"There are worse things out tonight than vampires..."
"Like what?"
"Like me."
