Be afraid. Be very afraid. You never know when I might show up.

Ok, this is wacky. Let me set the scene.
A month ago, my parents nabbed a 42" HDTV for the livingroom. Next thing I know, my Wii is in the livingroom, in order to allow the family to use it.
Three days ago, I take my grudge against this decision to the folks with evidence: Wii's play time monitor says it hasn't been played.... Since it was moved. So I make my case, am met with little resistance, and the wii is mine again shortly thereafter.
Yesterday, the XBox 360 Elite was announced. I looked upon it with desire and envy, but couldn't think of a really good reason to get it. So I decided to give my current 360 to a friend in a magnificent display of charity.
Today, bout an hour ago, my XBox 360 Premium dies after approximately one year of good service.
So I had exactly one year with my 360. Now I have exactly one month till I get my own Elite. And I just so happened to recover my Wii just in time.
THAT is crazy.

So, there goes 90% of my reasons for upgrading my PC soon. Unreal Tournament 2007 is now Unreal Tournament 3. Along with the known PC and PS3 versions, it is also coming to 360. Eventually, when the parts necessary for doing so are affordable, I'll upgrade and get UT3 for PC. But as it stands, it's going to go with the small army of 360 games expected out this year that I have to nab. Where are we at now in terms of upcoming 360ness?
- Unreal Tournament 3
- Lost Planet
- Crackdown
- HalfLife 2 Orange Box
- Armored Core 4
- Mass Effect
- Halo 3
- Halo Wars
Looking forward to all the games, really. As for Wii, I'm still waiting for more games. I'm not surprised at the lack of games I like; my tastes are eccentric and specific, and Wii hasn't been out long enough. Brawl, Galaxy and Corruption are out there, waiting for me to get them. But what else is out there? Doesn't seem like too much yet, but I have faith that will change in due time.

So I caved. I cannot find a Wii, winter break is here, and I desperately want to play Twilight Princess. What do I do? I get the GCN version, that's what. I fully intend to keep it AND the Wii version. We'll see which one I like more after I've played them both. Should prove interesting.
I also managed to make the most freakish combo ever.
My 360 VGA cable and Wii component cables are connected to a VGA + component to VGA transcoder / switch, which is in turn connected to the VGA port on my monitor. My gaming PC is connected to the same widescreen via the DVI cable. I got a Monster audio cable switch that switches between my consoles' sound inputs and my PC's. In short, I have ONE monitor, ONE set of speakers, and THREE gaming platforms in one setup.
Dr. Frankenstein would be proud, I think.
This is a change from before, where my consoles and my gaming PC had separate speakers and monitors. I decided to give my smaller speakers and my 4:3 LCD monitor to my folks as an XMas present. So, I needed to make all my non-widescreen games work on my widescreen..
Enter widescreen gaming forums, wherein all of everything you need to make most games wide is accessable.
The only trouble that I had was Halo PC. You can't make the game widescreen via conventional methods, you need to run a separate program. Fortunately I knew how to write a batch file so I could run both Halo and the program simultaneously. Good stuff.

Some people just don't have opinions. Like ClandestineZero.
ClandestineZero must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could ClandestineZero possibly have for not rating a single film?
