I made myself I promise at the beginning of this year: to finish as many games as possible! =) So, here goes a list of the titles I managed to beat, and I have plans to play a few more ones until the end of this year.
#Street Fighter IV: Quite easy with Sagat. I also did all the challenges and survival matches.
#Diablo (plus Hellfire expansion): Not so difficult with the Mana Shield Sorceror.
#Diablo II (plus Lord of Destruction expansion): Made it with the Druid; hard game.
#Zombie Shooter: Finished it two times, one being at the highest difficulty setting. Not so tough.
#Alien Shooter (plus the official add-ons): The first game is a walk in the park, but the add-ons are for hardcore-only players.
#Plants vs. Zombies: Quite easy for those who messed up with RTSes before.
#Sid Meier's Pirates!: It gets boring after beating all the important pirates, but still is a great game.
#Unreal Tournament 3: It may not appeal too much for long-time fans, but I finished it anyway.
#Prey: Beating this game is like playing a Street Fighter II bonus stage.
#Painkiller: Overdose: The hardest thing about Overdose is to wait for the loading time after each cheap death.
#Necrovision: Balanced and old-school game; I recommend it to everyone.
#Wheel of Time: Not as amazing as Clive Barker's Undying, but great nonetheless.
#Kingpin: Life of Crime: A different way to enjoy one more time the awesome Quake II engine.
#Duke Caribbean: Life's A Beach: There is no real vacation with ugly girls, flying buoys and boring Caribbean places.
#Duke It Out in D.C.: Saving Clinton couldn't be better.
#Duke!Zone II: If you want to hate Duke Nukem 3D, you might want to play this add-on.
#Duke Xtreme: More like a guide of "what bad levels are made of" instead of a real expansion.
#Rise of the Triad: For some reason I felt sad after finishing my long FPS rival. I tried it two times before with no success, but this time it's done. Great game!
#Heretic II: Excellent and immersive Fantasy-Action game.
#S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky: Definitely a must-play for every gamer, especially after the updates.
You see, gaming is an enjoyable yet a serious job. =)

Heretic II is different because of the Third-Person view, although the game world, character and most items are quite the same. Personally I liked it.
Rise of the Triad doesn't appeal to everyone, especially because it's now a completely outdated game. Even back in 1994/95, people preferred to play DOOM, which was a two years old game already.
What a list you got there! Sadly for me I only finished 18 games to date and now on a grinding halt due to four RPGs...but I'm not too concerned about it.
There's a couple of games in your list I like to try out and still need to play ROTT - my game continuously have corrupted save files but I'll take a look at that later. Games like Duke (never played it), Plants Vs Zombies (it's a craze at work) and Necrovision.
I'm playing UT3 and yeah it uses old school ideas with newer graphics (shame though) but I like the twist in Warfare - the orb carrier.
Game on mate!
About ROTT, try to update to the 1.3 version. Here's a link to download from the official website: http://www.3drealms.com/downloads.html
Plants vs. Zombies is incredibly fun, although a bit easy. If you want a cute and challenging game, I would recommend either Gish or World of Goo (awesome). Unfortunately I didn't enjoy Crayon Physics Deluxe as much as had expected.
UT3 is good, just like it. It would be awesome with a real tournament context in Single Player, better AI and more balanced use of vehicles. And I guess those things wouldn't be difficult to add or change, would they? If they (Epic Games) release an uber patch with a campaign like UT2004 featured, I would play the game again with a new point of view.
nice list with some golden oldies in there, and yeah the overdose load times are death.

Overdose is appealing for old-schoolers, although the cheap deaths are annoying. I played the game on 'Nightmare' and it's almost impossible. I almost gave up on that level you must kill the dead soldiers, at the end of the game.
What was your Paladin build? Blessed Hammer-based? =)
I have yet to delve into the Hexen and Heretic games, though i did get them specifically to expand my "old game/old graphics" library. I play Quake and Quake 2 about once a year and enjoy them every time. I absolutely love Quake 2 :Ground Zero, one of the very few times a sequel betters the original.
Heretic is just a fantasy version of DOOM, but it's a great game and quite gloomy at some moments. I prefer HeXen, which features a similar gameplay of Heretic, but there're more RPG elements thrown in. The possibility to choose three different characters and solving puzzles is a strong point.
Ground Zero is a very good expansion, although those auto-turrets are merciless if you don't pay attention. Considering someone that never played the game before, there're moments in which is impossible to predict where these turrets will appear. However, as a said, Ground Zero is a terrific expansion, just like Portal of Praevus is for HeXen II.
Yes, the turrets in Ground Zero can be a handful, but that's part of why I like the game. I found the original Quake to be quite easy, even on the hardest level. ground Zero kicks things up a few notches....the turrets, those mechanical spiders, and the bosses are much more challenging to deal with. It adds some really cool new weapons like the molten lava thingy, not sure what it is exactly. Its also long for an expansion, and you can just tell they put some thought into it and tried to make it a true sequel, not just some half baked concoction that so many expansions turn out to be.
Hum, not sure about GL Quake, but you can try WinQuake or, even better, D3DQuake. Here is a link: http://dxquake.sourceforge.net/
D3D Quake is almost the same thing as GL Quake, except to the fact you can take advantage of the DirectX 8.0 features, and also change the resolution through the main menu (Video Options, if I remember well).
For HeXen, Heretic and every other game based on the DOOM Engine, you can use Doomsday. Here goes the link: http://dengine.net/
Doomsday is an engine that allows you to play these old MS-DOS games under Windows, and also greatly enhances the graphics (thus allowing higher resolutions) and special effects. You only need the main *.WAD file from each game, and after running Doomsday, the grunt work will be done by the program itself. You just need to browse where's the *.WAD file and it works perfectly!

EDIT: nevermind i refreshed my memory that Hexen was the sequel to Heretic, and then there was a Hexen II, and THEN they decided to actually make a Heretic II. Weird decisions. But Heretic II looks completely different than the rest of the series.
