The long, dark, dull, boooooring summer is finally over. There are still no new video games out, but at long last, thankfully, there will be exciting and interesting sports on TV again.

Boise State Broncos vs Oregon Ducks, 10:15PM, Eastern Time

While we're waiting for tonight to come... to fit my happy mood today, here is a link to Seree Lee, using the marvelous invention known as the electric guitar to play Mozart's Rondo Alla Turca. Album version and live performance

Right now the only thing missing from me is a picture of Morpheus from "The Matrix" and a hissed "At laassst!" for the first time that Neo walks into the room.

It has been a REALLY boring summer, but that all changes tonight. Rum and Cokes, potato chips and sitting in front of the TV in my underwear HERE. I. COME!

"Rum and Cokes, potato chips and sitting in front of the TV in my underwear...."

Isn't that the true american dream?

So long as Chili doesn't decide to post a picture of that scene over here...

While I don't follow the sports you guys follow, the summer period is equally boring for me since the European football leagues don't start until late August. I guess the summer is just a sucky time for sports fan worldwide (unless it's a World Cup year!).

@SYdoggXxX
I promise not to post any pictures of Jim in underwear on my blog!

College football are a huge thing in the US, similar to soccer/football in Europe. The season starts today.

Meh. I'll continue watching baseball, thanks.

Did you know that this Sept. 1st was the 70th anniversary of the start of WWII?
I don't like baseball, football is okay, and I don't watch soccer.
I hate how unclassy (american, at least) sports players are. MUST YOU SPIT EVERY MINUTE?!

Um... I have never seen either college football players or NBA players do that. Probably because if you spit on the indoor basketball court or on the football field, you become a bit of a paria.

I actually admire professional athletes. They are living proof that anything is possible, if you want it enough, and work hard enough for it. How is that not admirable?

I'm still slowly learning the fine details of football, and the infinite roster list that comes with it. I don't know about college ball, but I know I'm interested in how Vick does on the Eagles. If only they didn't lose Dawkins. That man is a machine.

I've been getting through the summer drought the same way I always do: Buying and playing the backlogged games I couldn't afford the year before, or games I wanted but never got. We still have over a month before the flood of new games comes too...
