That's right, I haven't seen a movie in a while so I decided to go back on the gaming subject. I just got three new games from a friend, two are bad, one I haven't played yet but I highly, HIGHLY doubt that I'm going to be dissapointed.

Yey! After beating GTA 3 and getting like a quarter through Vice City (but the disk broke ) I have finally gotten my hands on what is supposed to be the best of the GTA games on the PS2!

Now for the reviews!!!

Today we have a very positive review, and a very negative review! Something for everyone! My first review is for:

Gears of War Review

The second review is for:

Men in Black II: Alien Escape

Try and guess which ones the positive one and which ones the negative one! Also expect a review of Call of Duty 2 along with a review of it's spinoff on the PS2: Call of Duty 2: Big Red One up soon.

That's it for me, I'm off to play some San Andreas!

WALL-E

Hello and thanks in advanced for reading my review of WALL-E, starring Ben Burtt, Elissa Knight and Jeff Garlin.

I'm a big Pixar fan. I love every movie they have made except for Cars. So you can imagine how excited I was when I found out that the project that they wanted to do from the very beginning was finally arriving. Doing a review for a movie like WALL-E reminds me of doing that review for The Dark Knight. We all know that the movie is amazing, so why bother reading about how great it is all over again? Well if you remember my Dark Knight review it was two words "Holy ^&^%". But those words don't describe WALL-E. To describe WALL-E is to say, Toy Story meets Meet the Robinsons. The great characters, and story from Toy Story, and the amazing colour, fun and moral behind Meet the Robinsons.

The movie begins with showing us WALL-E. This robot cannot talk, but if anyone can tell us a story with no dialogue from the main character, it's Pixar. WALL-E goes through the city, picking up trash and turning it into little squares. He is the only one left from a line of robots that got left on Earth to clean up all the rubbish. While they were doing this, Earth's remaining population went into space on the Axiom. A ship that was made to be a paradise vacation for people until the cleaning was done, and they could go back home. But this project failed and Earth has become inhabitable so the people have stayed up in space for 700 years, some even forgetting about Earth.
So for the first fifteen minutes we see WALL-E going about, doing his thing. The next day he meets EVE. A sleek, white robot that got sent here to see if there is any more life on Earth. Can I mention now that this whole time all the little kids in the movie weren't talking at all. They were too busy watching the amazing presentation of colours and character that was on the screen. I can't believe I'm saying this but WALL-E is one of my favourite movie characters this year. Yes, he doesn't talk at all, but Pixar does an amazing job of showing his expressions through movement and sound that people from 5-70 years old can figure out.

So the first, say, forty-five minutes of this movie is them on Earth. The slap-stick comedy is perfectly timed and our connection with both characters and their relationship grows with them. My eyes just remained fixed on the screen as Pixar brought out the big guns with what I think is their best looking movie yet. But watching WALL-E and EVE on Earth was just the appetizers, because as we all know, they go into space.

Once they get on board the Axiom we see how human life has changed. The setting has changed to everything being chrome white. The humans are fat, lazy, and stuck on chairs that take them everywhere. Most have even forgotten how to walk! Now I won't tell you anymore about this but as you can see, this movie has a great moral. A moral unlike any other I've seen in any movies. It shows how we are getting technology to do everything for us, eventually, Earth itself will be so piled up with our garbage that we have to leave and slowly be overcome with robots doing everything. Now it sounds farfetched now, but obviously I urge every single one of you to go see this movie as the moral of the story is fantastic. There is just one scene I want to describe to you that tells you how lazy these people are. We see a man, lying down on his chair, with a screen right in front of his face. On the screen is a video of one of his friends that he talking to. They are both talking about where to go for lunch. Then the camera zooms out and we see that the two friends, who are talking to each other on the video screens, are sitting right next to each other but are both too lazy to turn their necks to talk. |

The rest of the movie is just, incredible. You just have to see it for yourself. Everything from the presentation, to the characters we meet. From the progress of the story, everything is just amazing. I just sat there. My eyes open wide, smiling through the entire thing. This is Pixar near to their best. Of course they still haven't topped Toy Story yet, but damn, if they're pulling out movies like this so far into their career, imagine what's coming next!

First I better clear something up to some of you out there who think that this movie is a comedy. Now I'm not saying it isn't. But what I believe Pixar to be is a company that makes these fantastic movies that tell great stories, and they put some perfect comedy in there as well. But I do not go see these movies thinking that they are just there to make me laugh. A friend I know didn't like Ratatouille because he said "It wasn't funny at all" But that's because Ratatouille wasn't meant to be funny, yes it had like two or three moments that made me go "He he" but apart from that, it was a fantastic story with great morals to it. So WALL-E is not hysterical. I don't consider it to be as funny as say, Finding Nemo. But you know what? The story, and the characters and the presentation are all worth so much more than making me laugh.

I give WALL-E: 94%

Now I'm not quite sure on what movies I'm going to be reviewing next. So here are three that you might see in the next few weeks: Step Brothers, Eagle Eye and Babylon AD. But none of those are for certain yet. Now the reason that all my latest blogs have been movie reviews is because nothing else is really happening considering things I've purchased or games and stuff. I've stopped playing games for a while and I haven't seen anything I've needed to buy yet, so for now it'll just be reviews. But I have decided to do a list of my best to worst for all the Pixar movies. Then again, there worst is still great!
