Get ready for a fight for the ages! Check out CheddarLimbo's review here.
I finally finished up Age of Empires: Age of Kings for the DS. I became just totally consumed by this game. It came along at the right time, when I had a lot of energy and need for a good turn based experience. I think I've sucked all the life out of that little cart at this point. It's a really great game, though there are aspects that you can't help but feel are oversimplified. Only two resources to harvest? Anyway, I hear Advance Wars: Duel Strike is even better, so I'm going to start that one up next after I get my Kirby on...
Continuing the military theme of the day, Worms is coming to the DS! I'm eager to try this one out. I love the Worms franchise which combines a healthy mix of absurdity and legitimate strategy with colorful and fun gameplay. When I heard about Worms for the DS, I broke out the ol' Armageddon disk and began practicing my rope-work. Worms for the DS will have an online multiplayer, and I can't tell you how much fun that's going to be. Worms is a great game in its own right, but like Smash Brothers, it's the kind of game that only really comes into its own when it's played with other humans. Keep your SoComs, and your GRAW's thankyouverymuch. I want tolob Holy Hand Grenades, and strap jetpacks to sheep.
And finally, the other strategy game coming up is the sequel to Nintendo's Gamecube Game Battalion Wars. Battalion Wars 2, or BWii as the kids are calling it these days adds new units, new armies, and naval combat. This title's been pretty hush-hush lately, so I'm really hoping that it's because this is going to be a real shop stopper. I've played the original Battalion Wars some, and it has its merits and flaws. The controls scheme for this game just seems to fit great, though, and to me it looks terrific so far. And again, it's a series that doesn't take itself too seriously, so I can get on board with that and have some fun. I'm hoping that BWii will show us all what the Nintendo Online service is capable of. Let's hope it works out.

If you want a good turned base strategy, try out Medieval II or Rome: Total War. They are not on the DS but they are wonderful. Though they take up a good amount of computer power.
