Continental hired me! Wow, I start training at the end of October! So basically I get to remain poor till about January, and then I can be slightly less poor. I get to train in Houston TX and then I will either be stationed in Houston, Cleveland or Newark,NJ...with signs pointing towards Newark. I think I will be happy to live in a "Blue" state. Except all those taxes to pay for those things which I'm sure i'll enjoy...like public transportation.(Sarcasm, I am extremely PRO public transportation)

Once I start getting money again I'll have to decide which I want more: a 360, Wii, or Star Trek:TNG on DVD. I'll have to get a DS to save myself from complete boredom while on layovers.

I hear that they tend to only pick 10 or so people from each pool of 300 people that they interview. It was a tough process, and a little nerve wracking compared to other interviews I've been on.
Anyways, Wish me luck in training and that I can keep up with my bills.

Congratulations!!!!! I know that is a big accomplishment. I interviewed with Pan Am a million years ago and got to the second round. But I was a bit too punkish for them. It helped that I speak Portuguese but not that much! I used to love Continental. I was a Top Level (platinum? Gold?) Elite for years. I used to fly out of Newark all the time. I now live in LA and fly on United mostly. I sure do miss those sundays - extra carmel please!!!

Have fun and make sure you make time to explore the cities you go to.

The interview I blogged about previously was with United. But I totally forgot to take my earring out and I think it was a big factor in blowing that interview. I think I'll have a better chance of gaining "Seniority" quicker in Newark with Continental than any city United has anyways. I will certainly make time for the cities I get layovers in. I am going to try and get on the International flights so I can have a full 25 hours to sleep and explore before flying back and having a couple of days off.

Congrats on getting the job! I only got mine 8 months ago, so I remember how hard it was to get hired. You sound like you're really going to enjoy the travel.

It's going ok....Kinda poor from the move still. Still stuck in Texas on my days off... Dealing with the public en masse makes me cranky when I'm around friends.
