What's that? The size in dollars of my first paycheck!
Yeah I'm in the working force, which can explain some of my absences here, not like you noticed!

It's the usual fast food joint either, which is kind of cool I guess. I work for the local Single A baseball team as the bat boy, which means getting all their crap cleaned up and put away.

So what's the money going to? Hm... I've given this some thought...
32 gig iPod Touch
Rock Band drums ($30 sounds good to me)
Mirror's Edge ($25 at Gamestop?!? Everyone take advantage of this!!!)
InFamous

Obviously, that's not all one paycheck but I plan to spread it out and, with me graduating from high school at the last day of May, that money will help too.

I can't wait for my iPod Touch!!! Does anyone else have one? What do you think of it?

Anyway, enough of that crap.
I finished RE5 yesterday, played solely local co-op.

I'm split on this game. The first 4 chapters were pretty awesome because, ya know, shooting zombies is pretty fun. One of my complaints is that you are doing the EXACT SAME THINGS AS RE4 and some of the scenarios are ripped directly from RE4.

Find the key. Key found. Zombies activate.
Find the 3 stone tablet keys. Zombies activate.
Walk past seemingly dead or nonactive zombie. Grab key to go back and it woke up.
Zombie animations are the same also, which were amazing in RE4 but feeling recycled in 5. Now these scenarios are good but come the hell on. They couldn't think of anything really new?

Now you might recall I said the first 4 chapters were good... you know what that means for the last 2.
Ugh... it was like playing a crappy version of Gears of War. The cover system is terrible in this game and get this...
ZOMBIES WITH GUNS IN A GAME LIKE THIS IS NOT FUN IN THE SLIGHTEST.

If the controls were savvy to actually deal with this, then whatever, but don't make me shoot these guys with a control scheme designed for slower moving melee zombies.

While I didn't hate it, the story is so questionable that me and my friend were making jokes at every cutscene.

This game needed to evolve with the times, making a control suited for this day in age. It would have been ok to be old school but they tried to be a bit survival horror but got caught shoehorning a shooter in there and it didn't work for parts of that game.

There are some enemies in there that show this especially well, including the creatures (not zombies) that move too quickly for you to get out of the way fast enough.

In spite of all my poo pooing on this game, I enjoyed it and co-op was a blast to play. That might change though as I am gonna play by myself soon but all in all, I recommend to you guys, it's a great game.

What did you think of RE5? Comments in general?

Thanks and bye!

Congrats on the new job man, I don't have an Ipod touch but one of my friends do and they love it. As for RE5, I never played it but just by looking at it I could tell it was bringing lots of stuff from RE4....And that is not the best thing considering the fact how long it took to come out.

Congrats on your first paycheck! I know thats a great feeling to see all of your hard work pay off and make some real money. $181 is a pretty solid first check as well. Hopefully the job is bearable and you'll be able to stick with it. As on what to get; I DEFINITELY recommend the iPod touch. I got one last September and I love it. It has so many features and things to do while bored at school, work, or driving lol. I think 32GB is too much though. In comparison, I have an 8GB. With about 1,000 songs on it, a movie, a bunch of pictures, and a ton of Apps from the App store, I still have 2 GBs left. I couldn't imagine all the stuff that could fit on there with 32GB, But if you feel that it is not enough, I'd say go for it. There's also a 16GB which should be more than enough, but thats just me. I see you had similar feelings about Re5 as I did. The whole "survival horror" element just wasn't there in this game. It seemed more like a slow paced Uncharted with stupider AI and no platforming. The co-op feature really helped make this game enjoyable. If it didn't have it, I don't think I would have liked it as much. I know we've been over this before, but I feel the need to reiterate it: DO NOT GET THE DLC!!!! Jeez, did I hate that so much. Worst $5 I've ever spent in my life.

Sorry about the wall of text, I guess GS doesn't count my spaces...

@K1LLR3175: Thanks, it feels a bit more mature of me to have a job.
I thought people would like an iPod touch, they seem so sleek, sexy, and functional (just how I like my women ).
Yeah about RE5... I have never played a sequel that failed to change so many things. Sound effects, animations, scenarios are all borrowed from RE4 over and over and over. It's one of my pet peeves in gaming.
I think RE6 will have to be drastically different if anyone is gonna care. I have faith...

@McMJ3: Yeah my job is pretty cool. It's better than getting acne behind the fryer at McDonalds (which pays the same ).
You can already check my time trial times, I rented the game 3 months ago.
I thought it would be a one night stand type of game but I really loved it and wanted to buy it when the price went down. I didn't get to do that many because I was running out of time on my rental. I'm gonna try to get them all and get a platinum.

@BPoole96: Working for my dad didn't pay but when you actually get psychically reward with money, it feels awesome!
It's bearable but I'll want to move on after this season ends to a job closer to town. Since I'll be graduating, I won't get to see many of my friends since this job is out of town (friends as in people I think are cool, I'll see my good friends still... hopefully). Being in town would allow me to maybe see those people for a bit longer.

I already have over 12 gigs of music and I hate that cramping feeling of MP3 players. I bought an MP3 player a couple years ago and it was too small so I had to buy an 30 gig iPod. My iPod (while awesome) is almost dead in every way. One side of the headphones won't read, battery life is short, the buttons are SUPER numb, it's all scratched, you name it.

Meanwhile the iPod touch is up to date, looks incredibly cool, and touching is pretty fun!

If they had a bigger size iPod Touch, I'd buy that instead! 160 gigs! (I wish...)

Slower pace Uncharted with not so Uncharted controls. Also, I played today for the first time by myself and HOLY CRAP. Special ed Sheva. That's all I'm saying.
I don't know but RE4 felt so much better. It was way more survival horror than RE5. RE5 is way shootery, and that's not too cool.
Co-op was a game saver, I just wish you didn't have Sheva with AI. They should have just taken her out if a human isn't there.

It's ok. I read it because I wanted to read it.

Oh, sweet I did not know I will check them out later Good luck getting platinum too, it's pretty hard. Well, for me at least

Glad you like your new job! I-pod touch, well I have not been a I-pod guy myself, but it got really good reception, so good luck with it!

@McMJ3: The platinum seems hard but attainable. What I like about it is it rewards for time trials, a throwback to old gaming. It seems I never try to beat times anymore and trophies are a great incentive to go back and redo them multiple times.
Besides those free maps look great. How are they?

That and Dead Space look awesome and cheap (Dead Space is $30 at Target). I want to support these new IP, great idea games.

@Gamereviews2008: Not an iPod guy?!?
What do you use for music?

It would take lots of trial and error(for me) but I guess if I really tried I could get plat

And the free map is odd. It's like a alternate universe. It's really tough to explain. Anyway it was basically just like any other time trial just with no actual buildings or anything, just shapes formed together to form this odd but cool looking map.

@McMJ3: I got Mirror's Edge on Monday with the new map. ... yeah... time trials are hard.
I might have to work my ass off for the platinum!
The new map is pretty cool, I dig it. Can you get the new trophies?
There is so much trial and error. It can take an hour to get a map on a 1 star rating.

If you really want the platinum just youtube the time trials, there will be walkthroughs to get 3 stars on every map. And I think you have to buy the DLC to get the new trophies.

@McMJ3: Youtube would work great but I just downloaded the ghosts. They are pretty fast and hard to keep up with at times.

Yeah I figured they would force you to buy the maps... at least we got a free one!
I'm thinking about buying the maps though... I'll do some research.
