One might ask, why in the world I'm already talking about 2010, when we're not even half-way finished with 2009. My response would be: Practice, strategy, and bonding. The three things a good team needs if said team is to compete in the MLG tournaments.

Surprised? Well let me explain. Recently, a friend and I, along with Gamespot member, Brawl55, have decided to form a team. A team for the 2010 MLG Circuit. We're still looking for the fourth person, but we have ideas about that person already. Now, the point of this blog is to tell of our journey through this next year and what we'll have to go through.

First off being, practice. Countless hours per day, every day. We'll practice with each other and we'll practice by ourselves sometimes. This will happen for about a year until we head off to Meadowlands. Our first MLG tournament. We'll see how we stand there, and commence to find out what we need to improve on, or find out if we are strong enough to proceed to the next tournament, which in this years case, is in Columbus. It's something that will take so much of our time that it's almost scary how much we'll be together and talking.

Second thing we need to work on is our strategy. This pretty much falls under the category of practice, but when we get our fourth person, the true work will begin. Plotting what we'll do for each map, how to control each area, what weapons to grab, who has a stronger point with a certain power weapon, who can juggle flags fastest (probably me), and a variety of other things that will be quite stressful, but in the long run...will make us a team that will be hard to compete with hopefully. Perhaps it will be enough to put us in the 8th Round Winners bracket with Str8 Rippin or Triggers Down? We'll see.

The last aspect, and perhaps the most important...is bonding. Something every team needs to focus on. Bonding with every member of the team and learning to have fun, as well as working hard is a key aspect of something of this nature. It could make the key difference in our gameplay. It's hard to make a physical connection with my team due to both of the current team mates being in Florida, but it will be done. Costello2, who lives in Jacksonville, and CJC614 (Brawl55), who lives in Miami are two great people, and I hope we can meet face to face so we are just that much closer. I plan on seeing Costello2 soon, as for CJ though, well...that will be one long drive for this Northern Georgia dweller. But it will need to be done. This could help our overall communication and trust for one another.

So that's about it. My first blog in over a month, and of course it's a long one. It's just not right to be short from me anymore. I hope you all have a slight insight as to what I, as well as three others will be doing over the next year and I hope we'll have your best wishes going in to the season.

Have a good day everyone.

P.S.- Be looking for the team Livewire in the coming year for 2010.

. . .what game do you guys plan to play on?

I ask this because games like Halo 3 (rolls eyes) have the active camo and oversheild spawns so you need to know when they'll spawn and stuff. . . . .I have a friend who litterally only has Halo 3 only does MLG. . . . .he shot up from no rank to a general in like. . . . . 3 months and thats pretty damn fast imo . . . . .he knew when things would respawn and was like a machine. . . .scoring Perfections every match we played. . . . but definatlly I say bonding is important because well if you cant work well together then you cant work at all. . . .like my clan which has my best friend my girlfriend and my brother. . . .we work well together know eachother's strengths and weaknesses and most importantlly . . . . .we have fun

It his Halo 3, and already know the things you mentioned. We knew that within the first few months of playing the game.

Just hope it won't interfere with your school stuff. I've heard some bad stories about these tournaments. But either way, good luck!
