Take note of the upload speed........go figure

Man, I hope our government will get it's act together soon......Australia is miles behind other countries when it comes to internet speeds.....we're stuck with connections that are no faster then few mb/s......& most people have conncetions with only a few hundered kb/s.......which obviously sucks.......so yeah, I'm sick of having crappy internet

Anyway, that is all.......I just wanted a place to cry

Oh man, I'm sad for you. That's not good at all.

I'd go insane if I had to go back to dial-up...

Well, you learn to become patient with it.....though when it comes to downloading anime, manga, music, etc.......you just want to cry your heart out But I've proven that you don't have to be completely left behind......I have all the Death note Episodes downloaded......which = 4.81gb......& I did all that within a month.......so yeah......did I totally pwn my dial-up connection or what? .......plus I'm still working on Lucky star ^_^

It's pretty bad in the UK too. Most ISPs don't offer fast connections, and those that do have download limits. I'm with AOL, since they're not cable or have limits. My download speed is about 120kb/s.

man that is bad, i hate dial up

Wow Celldrax, I feel bad for you. My DL speed is like 1500kbps, and UL speed is like 384kbps.

Elviathan - Yeah, that's pretty much the average speed we get......though sometimes when I'm downloading, the download will start to speed up at the end & sometimes surpasses 10 kilobytes per second (our speeds average at around 4.5 kilobytes to 2.9 kilobytes per second), & the highest it's ever gone is 29.9 kilobytes per second......I don't get it ...

Wow, you downloaded 4.81 GB in one day, the maximum i have done is 900MB. My results were even lower then yours its 31 kb/s and 163 kb/s download and upload, i am from Pakistan. We will be having WiMax launched soon in our country which hopefully would improve broadband speeds.

Acetycholine - I said "within 1 month" With a good connection, it would be possible to download......hmm......maybe.....300.....340mb within 24 hours.

sorry, its a typo. I meant a month. I hope that Broadband becomes accessible in wider space in your country. You are the World champions of cricket, for 3 straight times.

That's no good. I'd dial up one day in my life and I know what you're feeling...
And I've a little question: is broadband service expensive in Australia?
Posted Jul 13, 2007 7:13 pm PT
Well, I honestly wouldn't know......but let's jut say that our broadband internet is still at the stage where we don't really get what we pay for (small download limits, etc).

Yes, Australia's broadband is still lagging and very expensive. In countries like Singapore, you pay much less to get the same high speed.. And whats worse, the customer service the ISPs offer here isn't that great as well!

Dang dude: I'm glad I have a good connection

I do get a 352 for Upload now, so I can get animes. But even at that speed it still takes awhile, I load 4 or 5 at once because I have so many I want. I can't get cable here but at least I finally got access to DSL. I'm not in a large.city.
